that run with craigs car was running 32psi and it can run 50psi and it was still being tuned on the dyno as it only had a couple of hours before it left of tuning and they only ran it to 1400hp so it should make over 2000hp with more tuning and more boost easy

id rather have an efficient car that does the times the power is producing. Id hate to build a 2000hp monster and get chopped by an 8 or 9sec street weapon.

Its not the intentions of the owner however. Everyone knows theyre dyno queens and good on them... no one else is doing that kind of power out of a small block. Its not set up for drag racing, its a manual and full weight car, not tubbed... its just not designed for racing. Like building a drag car and wondering why it doesnt circuit race that well - horses for courses.

tryhrd gets driven, he can run water though the cooler and could run all day long with reduced boost the others use dry ice so there only good for a couple of runs

I do understand this point, but i just dont see the point of building something with all that money just to be a dyno pig. BUT each to their own i guess..

Yeah I agree too, I think its a bit of a waste and not to see how fast it is!

Its all about being number one. Go outside with your mates, take a piss and then challenge the other bloke to piss further. Same deal with drag racing run a time and see if someone else can go faster... Whats the difference?? I particularly like engineering side that goes into building something like that. Its not a slap together and see how she goes affair. The time effort and expertise is the same to make a car run good numbers at the strip or to make good numbers on a dyno. Also all the engine devolpment that goes into those cars will get filtered down into lower vehicles at some stage so its always good to have someone do the R&D for you. Saves my hard earned dollars.

Whats the difference?? drag racing provides a huge sense of speed... dyno queens u sit in the car rev and look at a tv screen? hardly in the same league. i agree though the engineering side is interesting, but it lost me when engine size became unlimited and fuel.. now its just who's the richest and throwing the biggest motors together, not the smartest/efficient combos.

Same difference then sin, why bother building a show car all they do is sit there and look good in a magazine or a shed.. Its just another facet of car modification. All these guys want to be is the best at it. Most of these guys will build it play with it maybe win a thing or two then build a dedicated drag chassi to put it in anyway at some stage. They have enough money to do whatever they want. I think the unlimted style classes that have come into it just refelct at this stage using pump fuel just isnt up to the task of producing that kind of HP safely. There is still small block big block blown, N/A so its still a test of someones ability to build a motor and then convert that power to the dyno rollers. I dunno each to there own.

Just letting yas know Brett Waine called my work yesterday for parts, in the process of getting his rear end done in the VH. Looks as though things are rolling along well for the VH, can't wait to see it finished for the track.
