Haha, performed under controlled conditions, on a closed road, by professional drivers of course!! Very little info about on the GTSssss - apart from the obvious styling changes, you know if there were any mechanical differences?? My VL is/was a GTS, currently undergoing a complete rebuild!

Haha nice skid! My Dad has a GTS (also in the middle of a full rebuild, body wise anyway) I havn't actually checked it out, but I've heard some pretty good information suggesting they have the 290mm brakes in the front, and FE2 suspension. He insists it has a different cam/computer in it.. I'm pretty sure the engine is exactly the same. Also both the engine and computer have been replaced since he bought it (head gasket blew, weren't sure if the head was ok so he had our spare engine from another car (that had just caught on fire a week or so before) put in it, still have the original numbers one) and it goes just like it did before (except for when he needed his injectors serviced). The guy he bought it off had LE sideskirts and rear bumper skirt added to it also.

Our engine's are similar mod wise, havn't done much. His has a ****ty SuperCheap pod, mine has a Simota panel filter with the hole cut in the airbox and ducted down to behind the bumper. Both have extractors. Pretty sure that's everything, weak effort I know. My money is piling up again so it probably isn't long before I spend again (although HE wants ME to buy HIM a wagon project). Maybe that supercharger I was so interested in.. probably not lol.

My GTS was standard apart from lowering springs and wheels when I got it. But that is all changing! Motor has been given the arse to be replaced with an RB25DET. Dunno about the FE2 suspension rumour, but I had heard that they had bigger sway bars. Those are on the scrap heap, along with the standard brakes! I don't know if the standard brakes were any bigger, but just out of curiosity I'll measure them next time I'm down in Cambridge. I've never driven another VL so can't speculate on whether the motor feels any different or not from a boggo N/A!

Side by side with my wagon, wagon is lower (I always forget the name of the springs, they're just lows, dobis I think? The greeny blue brand whatever that is). I just find this kind of stuff interesting/amusing cause he is always coming up with random ideas about GTSs being different that I know aren't true (or just stuff about his car inparticular).

The GTS had FE2 suspension. Std 6 cyl brakes drum rear also which was dumb. Front rubber spoiler under front bumper, and rubber rear spoiler. All were 3L manual. Alloy wheels 15in. Red and white only. Letter box grille. Std engine no mods at all. They had a nice interior though with rear headrests. I had one near new and did one of the first RB20DET conversions in the 1990's what a dramma it was then compared to today but it went hard in its day last I saw it it was in Cambridge a few years ago painted dark purple. P.S I was the meanest VL freak I have owned most VL models including a gen walky and brocky calais turbo and V8 so thats my 2 cents cheers any info needed on any model give me a shout.

Yeah NZ only as was the VN GTS, they reakon 500 built there were no build numbers so who would know, but theres not that many around so 500 maybe right. VN came in blue and white and manual or auto. My GTS had electric front windows as a option but were wind up as factory. I also forgot to mention VL GTS also had the nice Momo steering wheel man they were nice when they were newer, I reakon disc brake rears, and v8 front brakes would have rounded the package off nice, but all comes down to cost.
