Preserved from CalaisTurbo (partial recovery). Original authors and dates are shown; archived members are not current Holdcom accounts.

it is indeed. its a similar story to the RB30 same rods and pistons, just different compression using different head gasket thickness and crown design. the main difference is no oil squirters (which isnt a huge drama anyway) and that the bolt and port spacing is different between heads. the 2jz-ge also runs a distrbutor based ignition system, so will simplify the ignition side of things a lil as i can run an MSD boost retard module and a very simple ignition ECU (still thinking along the lines of the jaycar unit) teamed up with a CDI unit to help spark with the LPG. will be interesting to see how it all works out anyway lol

I thought they were factory 4 bolt mains?

nah, ppl think they have forged rods factory too, but not the case! its crazy that they can support the power they do. cast pistons and rods! certainly look s a bit beefier than my 202 bottom end lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

cheers for the comments guys bought a front sump for it and will hopfully be paying for the bellhousing in a fortnight, so the engine can be fitted and we can tack up the engine mounts the car is being towed to my house as its been at a mates the whole time, will attempt the bay with another mate as hes done a few with good results so progress, but slowly slowly i pulled down the TA45 and measured it and it has a 62mm front wheel, so will support the power im after, but will be a lil laggy, im not stressed though, still loving it for $100 lol
