Bit of the ol' update I'm now half way through spooling my diff. I've removed the axles and centre (na diff) and have a vlt centre, axles and minispool to go in. Was pretty easy to do actually to my surprise, the centre just fell out Heres some pics 28 spline spool and axle 910 pump in stock bracket Adj upper trailing arms Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The minispool is all fitted now. With my sh!t attempt to put the centre back in, i cracked a shim lol... these little shim spacers couldnt be bought at any retailer i tryed so i went to SA RACE where i got hoooked up, Sam machined a new shim to the old size on the spot for me. Lockie was kind enough to drop by after he finished work to fit the centre as i had no clue.... he made it look so easy lol slipped in after 2 mins. He also chucked in the axles while there...why not lol. I fitted up the rest and took it for a drive today, spool FOR THE WINN. No evident incorrect backlash to be heard, gears dont make any noise. Wheel bearings are a bit noisy lol im guessing its because they are new and greased up. No regrets going minispool over lsd after driving it. Only time its a bit **** is uturns in side streets. But overall it has a really direct feel compared to the open wheeler Traction is great, this should help on those friday night traffic lights. Anyways big thanks to Lockie for fitting my crown wheel and centre and for talking me into doing it myself Lol

Update time I've been saving for a while now trying to get enough money together to complete my next phase of the car in one go. This time is just about now I'm about to send off a standard cam to wade for a regrind with the 818b profile. Should be good for the street, range is 2000-6000rpm. Also will be getting an adj cam gear to get the most out of it. New timing belt is on the cards, mine makes a bit of noise Sent money off for water temp and oil pressure gauges, i want to keep a close eye on whats going on with the motor when its making a bit more power. Spoken to nistune and will be getting the board installed shortly. Looking at setting up a surge tank in the boot also just for peace of mind. Car needs a wheel alignment both front and rear after putting in the adjustable panhard I will get that done before it gets pulled apart. Will also be investing in some soft compound tyres for the rear, will be getting the 15's that RBDRTY is running, they are as soft as an eraser and cheeap haha. The plan is to just get it tuned on around 1bar of boost for now. There is some creep even still at 14psi so on the dyno the boost will be set to whatever it holds, i think it will be around 16psi at 6000rpm. Expecting 220rwkw+. Will see how the driveline handles... im fully prepared to fork out for a custom clutch and r33 box if i need to keeping tyres on the car that dont hook up i think is extending the poor mf5's life. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Going to Morpower, its just down the road so if i do need to tow it, it wont cost much at all. I am getting a base tune to suit gtr injectors and z32 however so im banking on limping it there. Thats if lockies skyline all goes well there haha he is the guinea pig

They would have been lockies gear for his skyline lol. Nah nothing is on the car yet. Will keep you all posted on how the nistune goes. Works out so cheap if your not buying the tuning software license, 200 less you need to fork out. I sure as hell aint tinkering with maps so I dont need it heh. At least thats what I've been lead to believe, still waiting for another email to clarify.
