the front belt is for a/c isnt it? this is probably why i didnt even notice and neither did blk747 as i dont have a/c and i didnt even think about it and i dont think he does either! ill let you know if he does.
it looks like a v belt on the pulley, but is it meant to be a serpentine style?
not sure what the front belt is meant for i thought it would be for power steer pump but it doesnt line up with the balancer at all. not sure about a/c as i threw that junk out long time ago lol
yeh the pump has the grooves on the pulley and balancer is to suit the v belt

the p/s pulley isnt apart of the balancer, it isnt from oem. It is a different bolt on pulley that bolts on to the 6 screws you see on the pulley face..
you havent been trying to line up the p/s pulley off the front of the actualy balancer pulley have you? if you have, then thats your problem!! that groove is for the a/c.
it goes from the block to the radiator
alternator - apart of balancer
a/c - apart of balancer
p/s - bolts on to front of balancer.
could this be your problem?
let me know.
yeh not sure i thought it would be on a belt off the balancer. no havent altered the pump yet.... okay im not sure of this extra piece on the balancer but i will check it out tonight. hopefully your right.
cheers
i think paul is right theres a separate pully that bolts onto the harmonic balancer just like the standard one has 6 holes and im pretty sure thats for the PS pump where as the built in pulleys on the balancer is for AC and alternator just like the standard one
yeh sorry bout the confusion didnt know the front of the standard balancer came apart..... no problems then this solves all my questions..
have it all bolted together now
thanks for all the help paul and blk-747
The ECU, does that just plug straight in then you have to get a tune or do you only need to tune it once you start to modify the car.
In other words, can I plug that ECU straight into my stock VLT & run it without tuning until I get my bigger injectors?

the lt10s for a vl is not a straight plug in, it must be completely wired into the car.
Yes it will come with a base map to start the car etc, but you should then drive it straight to a workshop to have it tuned. Timing and fuel will be roughly setup and the car should definately not be driven hard with this map at all, as its only a guide and more to get the car to start and plod along to the tuner of your choice.
You can run it with any combo of injectors, from stock to 1600cc, but i definately recommend getting it tuned always.
