There were quite a few LOW 10sec cars at calder friday night, if the track was that bad, how can they be running good numbers... you said "Maybe you didn't have a problem hooking up because of the huge amount of excess heat you put into your tyres....." if someone goes out to race and doesnt put enough heat in there tyres, what does that mean??? does that come down to driver error?? or not?? Actually, it comes down to the preparation of the track..... Drag slicks are constructed so they need only a short burnout to hook up, as the track should be good enough for the slicks to bite into.... They are made of a soft compound, and if you do too big a burnout, you severly shorten the life of the tyre. Top Fuel and the other really quick cars do a larger burnout to give themselves a hot 'launch pad' which is made by them doing the burnout over a pre-determined distance, which also gives them a clean spot in the track for them to get down, that's why you see them backing up in the tyre mark they just made.... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Anyway that is just my opinion. One thing i was concerned with was the officals tho??? Young guy went out on the track and told me there was some water on it... Then i hear his boss telling him off cos it was oil... could have been a costly misjudgment.. lucky it was found.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah agreed, then they pre-determine that the track is sticky enough by rubbing their sneakers on the track... So if their sneakers grip to the surface then its good enough for a 10 sec car???????? WTF?? I saw the official doing that, i asked what it was, he said it was just water, but his sneakers were still sticking to it even with the oil on the ground...... from what ive seen i recon the entire straight has to be relayed. the startline is shocking and i doesnt help when u get time wasters with street tyres just sitting there chewing it up trying to generate smoke. And just after the 60ft mark is quite dangerous too where the race track meets the front straight the strip is uneaven there and thats just when cars are shifting from from 1st to second and havnt got full control of the wheel. Instead of spending money on buiding the new grandstands for the time being the money needs to go into the track.

the reall secret is startline used to rub his knob from start to end early friday morning I have to admit though jokes aside that when Adam was prepping the track the boys were confident to leave the line alot harder on more boost. My understanding of how to tell if the track is good is when the car comes out of the burnout and is reversing the sticky noise of the slicks sticking should echo around the track Also you cant even smell the VHT anymoreee! mmmm vht! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
