Nah Im still on the bodywork. It was supposed to be painted and at a workshop by now for a tune but I found a lot more rust when I stripped it down. Ive replaced the floor and trans tunnel so far, still have more to do.
The gearbox isnt what I was told either so that will limit everything until I get an auto into it.
Thats the fun with cars eh?
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Whos tuning your car Julian? And has he clearly explained what the issue is with the timing etc? What computer you running?
I had a redtop S13 SR20 SIII TRX a few years ago and after having to pull the motor on that I had the base timing out by like 10 degrees....made a touch under
140rwkw...went to mechanic, quick check of timing, reset base to correct spot...170rwkw@1bar, injectors maxed.
No bulls hit. Find out what the issue is mate.
I had the same issue with my VL, base timing was set waaaaay conservative. picked up 30rwkws after it was retuned. This is going back about just over 2 years ago.
MRC dynos in castle hill is tuning it, im sure he did everything he could to get it making big power, he didnt have time to muck around with it anymore plus the bill was getting pretty high.. he'll do it with the head and waste gate.
wheels are on now..
STACK OF PICS.. SOME1 HOST THEM FOR ME PLEASE!!
PICS PICS PICS
bias opinion.. but i reckon thats tough..
WITH THE MT'S IT loads up to over 3500rpm on the brake then into boost with zero wheelspin on the street.. 0 - 150 was 8 seconds on my stop watch or there abouts
cheers mate, i think it came up well with the new rims, raised the front just over an inch to fit the mt radial as it was rubbing with only me in the car... once its painted it'll look awesome
My wagin initially made 370rwhp. Wound a bit more timing into it and picked up an extra 23rwhp.
Timing does make a lot of differance.
Car looking tuff julian. Fix up that heat wrapping though. It's destroying the engine bay.
with the heat wraping, ill prolly do it all once the head goes in to get ported.. that way it'll look tidier and trap some heat as the bay gets very hot, poping the bonnet is a mission at times
if its any indication of what the car will run, i had a run with a honda s2000 turbo or twin turbo (FU/CKING QUICK) rolling start on the freeway and it pulled 5 or 6 cars on me through 2nd and 3rd.. he ran 11.1 at 127mph... this thing just kept going top end
Who said you can't make good power with stock head and none ported manifolds??
Dynoed my car yesterday made 349.5kw on 23psi. Is a manual tho so would probably loose 20-35kw if auto. depending on auto type and stall size
