lol this is a pretty funny thread. Back when I was about 15 or so one of the front lights had gone out on mum's car. We stopped by some auto shop and got a light, was about $20 or so if I remember right. Anyway, opened the bonnet outside the shop to take a quick look to see if I could change it, but I didn't have any tools on me so I said I'd do it at home later. Closed the bonnet and it wouldn't close properly. So I opened it back up and I had placed the new light on the piece of metal between the radiator and the front of the car (I dunno what that's called) and not surprisingly the replacement light had been smashed to a million pieces. Mum hasn't happy at all!!! So she made me go inside and get another. The bloke at the front desk wanted to know why I wanted another one all of a sudden, so I explained the situation and he had a good laugh at me. After telling the other guys at the desk what happened they gave me another one for free Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

My mate was working on his old Capri and he couldn't get it started after fiddling with the fuel lines, that and the starter was just about stuffed, so he decides to bridge the gap with a shifter. With that a spark has ignited all of the fuel soaked into the carpet under the car, which proceeds to melt the wiring and so on. Of course, he does not have an extinguisher so the car has to be pushed out of the flames. To top it all off, the car was inside the shed, which is connected to the house, so black smoke filled the bottom of the house which required a new coat of paint to conceal the damage. (The house was a rental).

dumbest thing ive ever seen was years ago my dad was restoring a 1947 vaxuall 6, he drained out the fuel and kept it in a drum beside the car now the silly bugger forgetting the drum decided that he's project that day would include a welder.. away he went with the welder next minute... WHOOOMMPPPPHHHH... silly prick left the drum of fuel there and the sparks caused it to go up.... i can still picture him running outta that shed like a chicken with a carrot up its butt lmfao

Dumbest thing I ever did was let somebody else drive my car. *sits and cries* 4 dead tyres, 2x metal to metal front disc brakes, 1 rev'ed to **** engine needing new valve stem seals. He also went through the toll without pay and got done doing an illegal turn. After I found out all these things I told him not to drive my car... so he takes my keys from my room while I'm at work. Needless to say, I will never trust anybody with my car keys ever again. Ohh then there is my silly... mate's 87 rolla hatch, 4afc beast! Yeah... 153km/h in a 100 km/h zone Gateway Motorway near Garden City for the Brisbane boys. Coppers behind bushes... I come a hooting down, Red and Blue. I just shouted AHHH at the top of my lungs and pulled over. Coppers were nice enough. Both female (not tap worthy ). One tried to be all aggressive, was going well until she said "Now wasn't that silly". I held back the laughter so I wouldn't cop more of a beating. But what takes the cake was my black shirt saying "I didn't do it". We drove away... they come past us 3min later laughing... I was now in the backseat of my mates car. Another time, doing some casual roadie work for a bloke, he calls me up, my car is with my dad, so I take mum's Eunos M500, got half way... Saw the temp surging upto overheat. Pulled over.... turns out one of the water hoses to the engine has broken (mech said it had all new hoses, asshole). Emptied the radiator... over heated enough to warp the alloy head. So 3 lesson's learned. Don't drive other people's cars, don't let other people drive my car and you guys do stupid stuff :P Never hurt myself working on a car.... have broken a bit of the carby, easy fix... got another $3 plastic vaccum controller at the wreckers! woot! just finished putting the rb30 in the 32 and went to turn the key and it was turning over but wouldn't start. we couldn't work out what it was, in the end we thought it might of been the car wasn't at TDC/cam timing. so we took the whole of the front off to find that it was one tooth out but not enough to stop it starting, then someone said are the fuel lines round the wrong way? 2minutes later she was running, boy did i feel like a ****!

ok i got another one, man i have too many of these..... anyway, i was tightening the nut up on the studs to the exhaust manifold as i had just replaced all the studs and had the turbo/manifold off, i slip while tightening a nut and the fckn 14 mm spanner falls INTO the exhaust pipe, i was like '**** this ****' so i get down, undo the pipe at the cat, get the spanner out after trying to get it out with a magnet with no luck, do the exhaust back up, continue working, then bump a nut off the rocker cover , straight into the, exhaust again, unbelievable! so i had to undo it again, was swearing all day long!

Got it halfway through and it stuck. Tried pushing and pulling...couldnt get it to go. So being impatient, i got out a screwdriver and put it into the middle of the plug and put my weight behind it and pushed. The thing started to give...then slipped, and my hand went, with my full body weight into the piece of nice jagged metal that i had just bent to a convenient angle. Went straight to the bone. So i had to climb OUT of the boot, dripping blood everywhere, then walk up the stairs trying not to slip on the dripping blood.

firstly, had an old xt falcon, clutch stopped working, this dodgy character i know reckoned the pressure plate had crapped itself, so i put it up on this huge ramp thingo i had access to at the time, to rip the box out. *DUMB THING #1.... car had a dodgy handbrake, so i had it in gear on the ramp what happens when i pull the tailshaft out???? car starts rolling, me standing under it managed to catch it and hold it while i called some nearby people for assistance, anyways got the box out, took the clutch off, it was perfect. enter*DUMB THING#2... mate walks over looks at the clutch and sais, did you check the clutch fluid?? me scratching my head, goes and checks the clutch fluid that had mysteriously dissapeared from the dodgy slave cylinder. finally DUMB THING #3 bought my vl, gettin it ready for a big 1300km road trip, had to change the front pads, mate helped me, we did a side each, 900kms into the trip i said to him, can you feel that?? every time i did a left turn i could feel this vibration. i look at him and say "did you tighten those wheelnuts up?" he looks at me all white and sais uhh i thought you did em up....they were all loose, you could turn them with your hand Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Today working on an alfa at work changing a coil over drop my snap on allen key which lands somewhere on the engine tray. **** **** ****. Put car on hoist engine tray off ended up being in the fan shroad. 1 hour later. Sometimes i wish i had $5 allen keys so it could of stayed there. Smashed a carnival yesterday at work that had 2kms on the odometer. Brand new car which i reversed into the fence. Put a kia pregio into the wall at work when the latch on the tailgate was ****ed and it swung open. being a van use your side mirrors so i didn't realise. Needless to say there was a mild crack with a loud ohh ****.
