I took it to the track cos I felt like it and I don't really give a f uck what anyone thinks it was a daily driver so a bit of fun never hurt anyone !!!
Why do you go to the track ???

What has gearbox selection got to do with it ??? you cross the line in your 1:1 ratio whatever gear that may be.
Yes it had 4.1's

The reason I asked why you would race it Unsorted is you seemed to be using that as an excuse or somethin for the time it ran...? 12.9 for a 'daily driver' is pretty f ukn good, nothing wrong with that...
Im still confused as to why it was "bouncing off the limiter" at 3/4 track? So what youre saying is it had already got to the 105mph trap speed by 3/4 track? Sounds like a potential 120mph car on 5psi untuned..
As far as my mods go, very basic you'd say:
T3/T4 Hiflo
Haltech E6H, 550cc injectors, 910 pump
600x300x76 FMIC
3" exhaust
XF Throttle body on stock inlet manifold
Stock exhaust manifold
Jatco 4 spd, 2800 stall, standard 3.45 LSD.
Im happy with the ET and MPH it ran given the very mild combo it is, no GT35/40, external gate or transbrake auto...

Reason I hit rev limiter 3/4 track is the 4.1 gears I had in it , I wasn't disapointed I just know it had more in it thats all and I hope PSI 05L does race it again !!
Thats good to see your combo isn't too wild and the dollars you spent match your E.T. , I just see too many cars with $20K engines that can't break a 10 sec pass that sh...ts me !!
Well looks like we alright now !! Good bye from me cos I ain't comin back to this thread !!
Kurt

it revs to 6500 now dude. nice time dude. i just bought most of a motor of kurt its a vs block stroker 366ci steel crank steel rods steel 4 bolt mains vn heads flowed to 560hp no pistons or cam and some other stuff so when its finished should pump out the times

I think its fairly well known and proven that cars with forced induction will have stronger topend than an atmo vehicle....
You just need to compare some numbers at the track. From my experience for any given ET the Force Inducted car will have the higher MPH over its Aspirated counterpart...unless its on NOS which is another story altogether.
Ok then, what is the top speed of you vl (or what have you had it up to?) And i wasnt talking about the quarter mile fool, like i am going to even get close to 180km\h down the quarter with 3.07 diff gears?????? I am talking about a top speed not an Et or anything like that. Basically who gives a rats how bout we all leave it at this #### I'll see you at the line???#### <<<How's that sound??

You should see mine, V8 with 205s on the back. It's a death trap in the wet, even when I'm deliberately trying to drive slowly it still gets wheelspin.
I don't drive it hard anyway... The only reason I bought a V8 was for the sound and torque.
With my stato stock bar geni extractors and supposed chip 205's on 15's are definatly a death trap no worries bout spinnin the straight up 245's on 18's are a bit harder i sort of get a shutter with a few chirps and thats bout it

well all i can say is i have been on both sides ove this argument as a mate ove mine had a VNSS GP A Mock up 5Litre first then a VLT BT1 then another 5Litre VNSS Orig then a Mitsu GSR Turbz then a VQ 5Litre and now has a VLCT ive liked all ove them apart from the GSR and they have been either an 8 or a 6 turbz so id say both jus depends on what ya like

I dont give a f uck about top speed!lol
Thats almost purely governed by diff gears mate, although HP helps!...
I care about how fast I can get there, and just for your information I got to 185km/h in 12 seconds flat.lol .......
Top speed of my VL? Not sure, my speedo is way inaccurate but if I was really, REALLY stupid and found a long straight stretch of road im sure it'd do near enough to 240km/h if it hadnt got f ukn airborne before then!!!
I thought I left this thread...

The 5 litres definately provide more noticable low down torque compared to the LS1s...
The LS1s now theyre f ukn 'laggy' on the other hand they do love to rev...

Nothing smart to say... what i have s2 vy ute with only exhaust and monaro air box and no vl turbo has beaten me any where off the lights or at any point. my mate has the rb25 in his and spent 8k on it and he wasnt even with in a car length away. please dont diss ls1 they are made as a family engine and have way more pottential than the rb motors

For a motor with the twice the cubic capacity of the RB30, the LS1 would wanna have more potential! And I do agree, potential is the word...hang one of those massive GT turbos off one and theyre a weapon as i witnessed at the last street meet at AIR with the LS1 Edit tonner running some strong MPH.
I used to work at Metro Holden and drove heaps of them things mate, they did not inspire me one bit, even the 300 GTS felt doughy, having said that they are deceptively quick for the fat boat they are...they just dont have that low down torquey feel to them like a VN SS did and still does.
Youve got youself a mid to high 13 second car in that ute...dont kid yourself.
Darren.

they have more ove a rumbling feel rather than the smoother ls1's now, they feel more powerfull becoz u can actually feel it doin what its doin, itz hard to explain it exactly but im sure sumone on here gets what im talking bout...

I don't
It's got nothing to do with the 'feel'... It's because they have more low down torque so you don't have to rev it high to make it move, whereas with an LS1 you do.
