i did a job yesterday for one of my clients yesterday, he works for holden in the engine production and development
so i asked him some questions.....
there is going to be just the 3.6 litre HFV6 for the commodore. The HFV6 is already in production but not for holden as yet, these engines get used for alfa romeo, there is a turbo version of this engine but there isn't any talk what so ever about putting the turbo HFV6 into a commodore or calais
On the other hand he said that they are developing a 6 litre v8 engine to maybe go into the VZ but more likley to be ready for the VE, the 6 litre v8 will definetly be a GEN 4 also...
Any speculation about a "turbo calais" isn't exactly false, the guys at holden are developing the 6litre v8 turbo version to be put into the VE possibly.
As for the commodores being VZ or VE etc, the V stands for commodore, whenever some1 is talking bout a V car they are talking bout the commodore
Holden is going through the whole alphabet again and use every letter they have missed eventually, they expect to be using the v series for the next 15 years then the commodore will probably have a new name
this is all i could remember
cheers guys

A turbo v8? Whilst awesome, I wish Holden would catch onto Ford and start a turbo'd 6 (I'd prefer inline, but meh). They should just have bought some spare 2J's off Toyota and thrown them in. Perfect engine.

351 if your obviously a ford man so what are you doing here? and the comment about releasing cars every two years well so what better than leaving a model that 99% of the population hate run for four year (AU)!!!the holdens are much better cars faster and better looking, better handling, and when the ls2 and hfv6 come out ford are going down.

A homosexual poem, written by a homosexual character. Well done champ!
You're obviously a "CSV Fan", what are you doing here? Are you a retard, or just plain ****ing stupid?
Holden are much better cars? Faster? Handle better? LS2 & HFV6? err, haha, are you even old enough to drive a car?
The HFV6 is a good engine, no doubt about it. The LS2 sounds impressive as well, but are you that ****ing stupid to think the likes of Ford and such don't have this technology under their sleeves as well?
The new 5.4ltr engine Ford Australia are using is based on the American blue print. The engine is assembled in Australia, and many of the parts are made here too, along with modifications by Ford Australia. The GEN III is 100% imported, fresh off the boat.
Ford have had the 5.4ltr quad-cam engine out for 2 years now, which is an advantage because it's given them a head start on the likes of Holden & HSV.
You can also supercharge your 5.4ltr quad-cam V8 Ford now as well. Comes complete with Ford Australia Warranty and everything.

omgz!!!!!11! What a corker of an insult!
All Holden do is write to GM, ask for a new donk, then stick it in when it gets off the boat.
At least Ford still put some Australian content into their cars, Ford were here long before Holden and now as much as ever they prove that they really are more of an Australian based company with Australian based interests... as opposed to Holden And if they're going to import motors from another country, will they hurry up and ring Nissan again already?
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

is the hfv6 imported no i dont think so its al;l bilt locally here in aus!! plus why make an engine when you can get a more powerfull good engine? yes the ford has it over holden when it comes to refinement but for outright speed, power, and even fuel economy the gen111 wins. like i said i'm not against ford, hell im working at my local ford delearship part time. but hey every one has to start at the botoom
