They probably thought you were going to buy her the alcohol and didn't believe your story that she was your sister.

16-07-04, 10:46 GMT+10#107 still kinda iz a little bad, maybe u guyz jus got 2 many fully sik subbies in ur boot, plus calais somehow weigh 100kg more than execs, so if u need a stupid excuse to stop ur worrying just blame your car's weight, lol

16-07-04, 10:49 GMT+10#108 duz n e 1 get different results from different petrol joints? i've been told safeway plus petrol iz bad, they recieve the same as shell but i reckon they dont take care of it well. Also i've been told bp ultimate is the best, followed by shell optimax (thats what i use), shell works gr8 for me, but then again it might just be the car that works gr8, lol

16-07-04, 17:23 GMT+10#112 I always use to get Mobil fuel but they are crap now, I find it that my VL goes better with Ampol-7/11 fuel shame with Shell.

16-07-04, 22:35 GMT+10#115 Have any of you checked your injectors for leakage?
You could have at least a couple which leak, the last time my VL got that economy was when the injectors leaked, washed the oil off the bores and wore the motor out,I was getting around 250 - 300 kms per tank.
When it was all in good nick I got 8.5L/100 kms (in manual form) with a combined city/highway cycle, this new motor I have now (twin cam N/A) gets the best of 10.5L/100 kms and has a fair bit more tow in the mid to upper RPM reaches using the RB25 ECU than the old motor,I can go up an incline under load in 5th an accelerate whereas before I would have to shift back a cog,it runs as smooth as hell too.
With this motor I have no AFM to adjust as the computer does it all in closed loop mode via the 02 sensor, the worst economy I have ever got out of it was 12L/100 kms which involved a lot of stop/start driving.
I would expect it to use more fuel than a single cam motor as it pulls more like a standard to lightly boosted VLT.
If replacing injectors,I heard they are sold under the fuel miser banner,I have had bad experiences with second hand units and found it better getting new ones (unless you are lucky to get low km units).

I seem to hear that alot. I ran my car on Ultimate once and it started farting and backfiring. Purrs like a kitten on Optimax tho. Meeeh!

17-07-04, 11:47 GMT+10#117 I always use BP Ultimate or if it's not available I'll use Optimax. On a recent trip to Melbourne from the Gold Coast, I got 550-600k's to a tank. Running 22 degrees advanced timing and 2.5 " exhaust. The auto sh1t itself in Vic but other than that it ran like a freight train 6 hrs a day. Now I got a r00ted bearing so a rebuild is on the cards. We'll see what happens then. Was getting 123rwhp(90ish rwkw) without extractors which are now on and the stuffed auto.

19-07-04, 03:59 GMT+10#119 somebody told me safeway+ used to get their fuel from some place in indonesia and some australian commission gave them 3rs or something to find a new source because of the poor quality, this was a while ago.
duno if it's true though
