What does the front bar have to do with it? unless you've got some wacky plan to run forward facing throttles and take an intake from each side of the bar?

Just hooked up mine, took her for a quick run, from a stop position and just punched the accelerator, why did it take me this long to finally decide to do it!!! Works a treat!!! Thanks guys for the idea.

i din't want to cut a hole in the body so i made the hole in the front of the airbox twice as big and put the snorkel on reversed with one side of it cut off. it blocks the hot air blowing over from the fan and sucks cooler air from over behind the headlight. made a difference i'm really happy with it, gotta get me a k&n now just another option for people to consider

Firstly Awesome Guide CoastVL. I have an N/A RB30 in my 1966 HD Holden Sedan. It has been in there for about 2.5 years, fully engineered. My initial air intake was via a pod filter. It went well as i had a 10x10cm hole in the front firewall allowing air through the grill into the pod. I read this and decided to have a crack at doing something similiar becuase i'm not sure if cops like huge holes in your body. My setup is an VL airbox with a 90 degree 90mm pvc bend then pipe throught the firewall, behind the grill. All black so is hard to see. I have a cheep filter for now but once i am happy with it all i will get a K&N. The engine was out of a R31 so i have the skyline inlet pipe. My problem is that the moment that i am off the throttle i have a loud back pressure "Howl" Has anyone had this proplem? It is louder that with the POD filter.

having the intakes down there does draw water.... the clubby 2 weeks ago, stalled on the side of the road, went to jump start it and it was blowing steam and water out the exhaust... blown head gasket, brought it home and took the supercharer off, and it was FULL OF WATER heads were not leaking, head gaskets are good too only difference this has a pod under the front bar behined the brake duct

has anyone heard of fitting a VR or VS SS style induction system to a VL?

Yeah it sounds like a deep growl but the sound definately comes out of the inlet pipe. It only happens when you back off the revs. Quote: Originally Posted by VLHERO Backpressure? So its an exhaust noise?

My old stockie made the same noise with cold air as well. I would't call it backpressure but it definately had a light harmonic note in the airbox when lifting off the throttle. VLHERO there really is no need to have a go at this bloke for answering your question!
