06-02-04, 08:27 GMT+10#101 I think you will find that the organisers have no choice in putting up entry fee's as insurance costs to hold such an event have gone through the roof.
$170 isn't that much to pay for the fun you have in your car, not often you get to drive around a race track like Sandown, everyone wants events like this but when they are put on then all people do is whinge about costs.

06-02-04, 08:30 GMT+10#102 i agree with stocky, if you really like doing burnouts, dyno comps drags, a 170 3 day entree fee wouldn't be too much.
same as paying for a grand final ticket for afl, some crazy ****s pay over 1k.
my 2c, ill go to spectate if i dont have sport.

06-02-04, 18:07 GMT+10#104 Minispools are dangerous mkay.
Easternats is just a really toned down Summernats. Not as many events, not as big venue, not as many people, no cruising the street for people to touch ya car.. i like it, its quite good.
Even if you dont enter Fonzy just come and watch.. few of the boys are saying its exspensive.. which it is getting.. but, i still think its cheap entertainment for a whole day.. i mean, a slab doesnt even last a whole day.. sheesh. ;P

09-02-04, 15:08 GMT+10#106 Dont worry I wont be going.
I don't thrash my car and wasn't implying that everyone does. Just because someone drives a fast car doesn't mean that they are a hoon, I dont speed and I haven't done a burnout for at least 3 years with exception to calder drags. My point was that without the cars going thrash/cruise whatever, there is no event.
Last time I went I only went in because I drove all the way there and wasn't going to leave "empty handed" so I dug real real deep for the overpriced entry fee to see burnouts and dyno runs that my car couldv'e beaten on standard boost.
There was the odd car that was quick, tough or very nice but with the prices that they charge you'd think that they would have a sh1tload of sick cars.
At least summernats is justified in charging the prices that they do because it's ANIMAL up there. As for easternats pfffft, never again.

09-02-04, 20:24 GMT+10#107 well u dont haveto go no one is gonna make u its ur choice people have different opinions about stuff if ur a tightass and bitching about the price well dont go but Jon Davison went to all that work for us guys to have the easternats and it is a possibility that there might not be an easternats next year coz of all the people bitching about the noise and smoke so just make the most of the easternats this year.

09-02-04, 21:59 GMT+10#108 Jon I beleive got a 10 year deal with the council. That is wot his letter that I got said from them. Man $170 is cheap I think. Really want can you do for 3 whole days for $170. Not much and it is so much fun. You will spend $10000 -$20000 on a car but won't spend $170 to have fun in it a do a few skids or race a couple of cars. It's cheaper than doing it on the street and getting a fine. This when every 1 says "no I don't drive fast, don't race or do burnouts", man every one does when they have a performance car. That's half the reason why you build them fast.
And who ever said they could have entered there car and beaten every thing in the drags and on the dyno on 10 pound, that's a big call. I would like to see you rip Craig Brewers panel van. And ttv8 on the dyno. Big call man!!!
Maybe you should turn up and put us all to shame. Man I'll race ya for sure.
What is $170 when you are obviously going to win the Drags and dyno challenge. You will make money and still only be running 10psi.
Every 1 that has actually entered there car did you enjoy it at easternats?
I do, would be the best weekend for me all year.

It's $40 each day or $90 for a 3 day pass. To expensive for the average joe.
And it should'nt be anything more than $100 to enter your car.
A couple of mates are pressureing me to enter my car is'nt really ready anyway but I think I'II give it a miss, Unless they pay my entry $170.

15-02-04, 08:46 GMT+10#114 Well when I went there was no TTV8 etc. Read my post I said ' when I went' I didn't say last year or whenever they were there. So it's not really a big call because the most that I witnessed was like 220rwhp. And burnout, a while VL did a burnout without turning the steering wheel, Yes dead straight and not much smoke. Oh and the sick cortina, that 1 started a burnout but the front tyres didn't grip and pushed the car forward so he just kept driving straight past the finish line. Yeah heaps of quality cars that year so I haven't been for for a couple of years because it wasn't to MY liking.
And yeah I drive a VLT and I'm a tightarse. I wish. Tighter than a fishes arse and that's water tight.
