That is what I run at willowbank with a stuffed auto and no extractors. I'd say thats about right for a stocker. Mine had 350,000ks and still went pretty good. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ive got a cold air intake on mine. Got a short piece of 100mm pvc and traces the circle on the bottom of the airbox. usinga keyhole saw i cut the circle out of both the airbox and the wheelarch. To teh end of the pvc i attached a 45 degree bend. Over the end of that i put the mesh of the top of an old airfilter. This is the perfect size to allow full airflow and still stop little rocks and stuff from entering the airbox. The piping was all painted black so if u wernt looking for it u wouldnt even notice it. Inside the airbox the pipe was secured by 3 "L" brackets i sealed the old hole by taping up the inside of the the old goosneck and left it in its original place. This way it looks totally stock from the engine bay as well. i did notice the bit of extra power but the biggest difference was the sound. It has a much throatier sound now even with the stock exhaust (gutted cat of coarse). next on the agennda is a 2.5 inch straight through with a set of mendrel bent extractors anda k&n panel filter for the air box for that lil bit extra airflow. Another thing i noticed is better fuel efficience so thats something to think about.

do extractors really give power i just recently spent just over $800 on extractors through to a 3 inch dump pipe. and i cant feel the difference but sounds awsome

unless you do other things i dont think youll feel the difference but you should get a slight increase in economy.

pauls vl, it's very weird that you wouldn't notice the difference, from putting extractors and a larger cat back on i noticed a decent bit more low end for normal driving and it pulls harder wen i floor it too 4 sure. i did the extractors after the cat back and thats where the major difference came in. oh yeh, if you put a 3" cat back on thats where ur problem is, thats way too big for an n/a, sell ur 3" b4 it gets old and put a nu 2.5" cat and cat back on (mandrell bent ofcourse) and trust me you will notice the difference from that. i found with fuel economy that i could gain more economy from being light footed but can burn a lot more fuel than b4 by driving like an idiot, that kinda says something about how much easier the car can breathe with good extractors

Is that ok for a heavy calais with these mods??? bloody smokes it up so nicely that sounds about right for a calais but an exec with those mods could do low 16s if driven right Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The only mods I have on my NA 5spd is a Pod Filter and Cannon exhaust but im going to go for a Cold Air Intake Kit. I reckon it would do the quarter mile in about 16-17 secs.

actually you need to learn how to convert 1/8 to quarter male. its more like mid to high 15's lol took my girls stocko vs commy and ran a 16.57. thought that was pretty **** for a v6 commy and now i know why i like to drive my vl rather than the vs

Has anyone put a turbo style muffler on an N/A vl? Same sort of one you see on loads of 4cyl's. Just wondering because I haven't seen anyone driving around with one and I can't see a reason why people wouldn't do it.. it must sound alright cause its a straight six... anyone?

The reason is because canons look stupid. I've got a "Turbo Muffler" but its just a stocko looking thing.
