well rust was fixed today. panel beater ended up having to weld a new piece in as it went the whole way through. only cost me $100 and looks tops, cant even tell it was ever rusted out... ah the joys of being in the trade and having good connections lol. car is booked in for Friday at 3pm, also am taking to trade school the next few days, and will hopefully see the dyno..

Good luck man! thanks mate, well i really shouldnt have a problem anyway as all they are MENT to be checking is the rust and the bush's which has been fixed all properly.

car went on dyno today, pulled 189.9 rwkw on first run then 193.25 on the second. thats on 11 pound and AFR was a consistent 11-1, so way rich. am going to wind the boost up a touch tomorrow and see if i can break 200. also put the 4 gas on it and found that my oxygen sensor isnt working at all, but we tuned it as best we could, was running even richer than now. we also dynod a VY HSV R8 and that pulled 211rwkw so im pretty happy with how close to that i was.

well put it on the dyno again today, wound the boost up to 13 pound and it pulled 205rwkw still runnin rich at about 12-1. but in the process i managed to blow the head/head gasket, no big bang or anything just retuned to idle after the last run and it was a little lumpy, gave it a rev to 2 grand and looked in my rear view mirror to see that i was dutchng the dyno room out with white smoke. is leaking really bad into cylinder 1. had to get it towed back home so i missed my defect booking to. am rather pissed of but oh well what can ya do. started strippin it down already. lecturer at tafe recons it didnt let go coz of the boost increase as it was only a 2 pound increase and wasnt pushing it to hard at all. thinks maybe there was something wrong with head so i will find out when i get it off.

dunno yet man cant really afford to do anything at the moment but am posibly thinking maybe a cam while its out.. but dont really know how much im looking at to do it all. got head off today anyway, found what looks to be the problem, seems like the head gasket let go between water gallery and no 1 cylinder on drivers side. stripped head also and it will be going to get crack tested and ****.

Well not a whole lot has happened due to money seens as it was the mrs birthday on Friday. (there goes all my vl money lol) Head has been tested (all came back good) and faced Block is cleaned up ready for head Picking up new head bolts tomorrow, just standard replacements cant afford Stud kit at the moment, and don't think its crucial at the moment Today picked up inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets. am getting price on MLS Cometic head gasket tomorrow but wont be able to afford that till at least next week Then its just oil and coolant and slap it back together. Also am taking head into work tomorrow to Heli-coil or re tap the bolt holes for the accelerator bracket, one was always stripped and the other is starting to. Just get a genuine nissan one, about $70 trade including GST, You won't pop it on an A8 with a standard set-up. I don't reckon You should bother with putting a turbo ECU on it either, I would love how rich it's running. What was it? 205rwkw on 13psi @ 12:1? You probably wouldn't get that with a turbo ECU.. I know what I'm going to run in My Calais Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah ive been thinking genuine as i got my quotes today. from sprints for a cometic mls $380 + $18 postage from Melbourne (fvkc that) and from outlaws $220 (possibly) most people ive been talking to have said that mls is a bit of overkill. so it may possibly be a genuine one. im thinking it may have blown in the first place due to the injector still not to sure about it. so im getting another vlt one anyway just to make sure. and yeah those figures are correct lol, also my oxygen sensor isnt working so that may have some to do with it. i am happy that its running rich but the wallet isnt lol

No-one drives a VLT for their fuel economy Get the numbers off the side of the injector and post them up, I'm curious. Jamie was talking to Me on friday about Your car and mine (remembering when He run it on the dyno for Wayne), and I also remember Him mentioning a faulty o2 sensor will not cause an engine to lean out. Think about it like this; Save $150 on Your head gasket by getting a genuine Nissan item, which are known to be good for massive power figures and save Your piston ring lands, which would be the next week link in the chain.. the numbers i could get off of it were 957 084 02801501xx last 2 numbers are scratched off. as for the oxy yeah i think it would maybe be contributing to making it run rich more than anything coz its not getting a reading back on how rich is running

Well have the money to get this done now, brown top injector is on the rail replacing the suspected dodgy one. genuine Nissan gasket is on its way had to come from Melbourne should get it Tuesday night. $60 to ended up heli-coiling accelerator bracket threads, all sweet now. oh and today finally got a red manual surround, interior is messy as at the moment and have my red vlc steering wheel on the way that i scored off of ebay.
