i never really considered a black vl looking good, seen a couple but just didn't do it for me but this has TOTALLY changed my opinion, i guess it had to take a perfect vl for me to see it.
Congratulations on your hard work and effort into this car. It makes me a proud vl owner when i see stuff like this and its cars like this that really make the vl scene bigger and bigger each year.
Makes me wanna keep mine forever so i could one day do something like this. I've always been a 'sleeper' man but i could see myself in this

That car is truly mind blowing!
Congratulation's on raising the bar man. This car has just come literally out of nowhere, to be pretty much the best in existence.
And keeping it on the downlow seem's to be the way to go about it, it seem's. You've done well to keep it under wrap's this well. I'm sure you're glad you did now!
I also like the fact that you're very humble about it, and take the good with the bad, which is a credit to you man.
All the best, and I hope that machine bring's home the time's and the trophy's it deserve's.
Igor.

fkn why pick at a car to find negatives when its clear so much has been done to make it not just 'another VLT'
It's kind of ironic when it comes from people that own cars, that can be easily classed as "been done before". It's like people think VLs are the only Commodore that has trouble trying to do something different. Tell me honestly how VKs, VNs, VSs, VXs etc don't have the same problem? It's hard to make something original, when so many people have the same type of car.
Though SC has always had an anti-VL feel over there.
Anyway like I said over at SC, it's an awesome car mate. It looks unreal.

Amazing Car Steve, Truly is a piece of art in an automotive context. Many have said that it has raised the bar, i believe its pulled the old bar down and placed a new powerglide equipped bar in its place.
I would love to be able to see this car in the flesh, as the pictures portray a car with no expense spared and no lack of vision in its design, creation and execution.
And judging from the response from the rest of the Calais Turbo community, this is a car which we all seem to rally around and can be proud of. As what dixie said, makes all us other VL builders seem like hacks (myself included) but also shows that a VL can be made into something awe inspiring.
Congrats on the build and the many good k's ahead,
Damo
Madness! But perfectly executed. Kudos for doing the work yourself too - best way to learn. Look forward to seeing more pics/magazine feature soon. How you remained tight lipped and patient over six years I'll never know.

the diff setup consists of a fully adjustable 4 link setup, with adjustable height setting both on diff and chassis points, when i say full floater i mean the axel/hub assembly setup.
