15-04-08, 04:54 GMT+10#121 Yip and I still do skids every time I go out in my VL. Just not that smart to do at night on a busy road. Doesn't worry me though, it's not my license

gasguzler KDX 200 is a good all round bike depending on what level rider you are I had to put a KX125 front end on my 96 and 97 KDX with gold valve upgrade also with a ohlins shock in the back and a full FMF exhaust system and Boyseen rad valve, clutch cover

I'm guessing you guys are talking about dirt bikes? I only want a road bike, but it's such a hassle to get one without a licence, and its a bitch to get a licence without a bike, it's just a pain in the ass!

17-04-08, 17:33 GMT+10#133 I have a really bad back (there's surgery fitted hardware in there ) so a bike might not be a good idea, but I really want one, that means I'd need one that wouldn't be too hard on my back though. What would you riders recommend? Also I'm finding they're generally **** or $4000+.

na the hill climbs are the best, nothing like going up a bloody steep bank and riding over people that fall off haha,
my first bike was the 92 kdx, a piece of shyte really but a good bike to learn on. got the 98 kdx and its just a whole different bike. way better chassis and handling. power is ok, its got a fatty gold series pipe, expansion chamber extension, new reed and stuff, keeps up with the drz 400 and with a little pull on the handle bars in 5th pulls the front up, wheel stands for as long as you like, a good all rounder really.
i picked it up for 500 bucks so those deals are out there, just rebuilt the motor, owner pulled it apart and couldnt put it back together.

i dont know if your looking to go fast...but nothing wrong with an old gn250..real comfy and still lifts the front wheel if you clutch tap it..mine never gave me any issues

My first bike was an XL200, smoked like a train and well past its use by date, never missed a beat despite my best efforts to destroy it.

Lol yeah they're just about the cheapest bike you can get ($3300 new a while back) but I want one that I won't want to replace straight away. And they have a low seat height don't they? I want one a bit higher cause I'm not exactly short, and with my back I don't want to be cramped.
I had actually saved up enough to have quite a few choices of bikes that were pretty good, but then I bought my wagon Looked at a couple of ZXR250s, but they were pretty rough, found them on trademe..
