And that's 177kw with a RB20DE head, an RB25DE head would have to make close to 200kw?

What flow characterstics/data do you base that upon? Also that's 177kw from a built motor.. so less than 150rwkw, ouch!

"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_RB_engine RB30DE These rare engines were used in the Tommy Kaira M30 based on the R31 Skyline GTS-R. A modified RB20DE head was bolted on to the RB30E block. It delivered 177 kW (240 PS) @ 7000 rpm and 294 Nm (30.0 kgfm) @ 4800 rpm. RB20DE - twin-cam (110 to 114 kW ) RB25DE - twin-cam 140 kW/190 PS and 147 kW/200 PS " Thats how i made my assessment of the matter. Plus with forged pistons, stroker, rebored/sleeved block, bigger injectors, maybe a R33 gearbox, aftermarket ECU, Custom Plenum (Swear i've seen one on a NA before), 2.5" exhaust, gutted cat, extractors and a lot more i could name... a NA VL with more than 200kw at the flywheel is realistic, and thats all i'm allowed on the P1 rules of Queensland anyway. On the orignal question mate, that 177 is at the fly, and of course you would know all VL figures are at the fly, none in rwkw unless someones converted them. But who likes reading rwkw figures anyway, it makes me feel like my car is even slower Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You don't need forged pistons, and how would you go about stroking the RB30? Theres nothing on the market. I've seen in a thread on here that you can use the L24 crank from the R30 skyline to stroke it out to 3.3L, but how true that is I don't know. Damn good mod if its true. That plus the 25 head would make good street power. Quote: Originally Posted by Avenged7X bloody good looking car you have there mate, its missing something though Cheers! That to, and its also missing a calais front. I have everything, bar the front. Would you consider swapping for my SL front? haha.

My 30DE makes mid 170's (rwkw)... made 151rwkw as a happy daily (with 10.5:1 CR and max reground cams), upped the compression (12:1), fujitumoto 3" madrel extractors, 3" straight through exhaust, adj cam gears, greddy plenum & billet 80mm tb, + other misc things. not an official dyno as car was detonating badly (thus not in sig as not yet stable), was incredibly rich also, thats on 25% methonol mix. Has 25DET ecu atm (for DET injectors) and SAFC (for Q45 afm). Problem was combustion chamber getting waay too hot, car ran fine when when cool (at temperature from idling) engine wasn't hot, just chambers, causing pinging. Installing water/meth injection and colder plugs, working on microtech LT12s atm. Aiming for 250hp minimum, ill keep working it till i get it, and i want it on pump fuel (>e10 blend) with water/meth injection. Once i hit that, installing nitrous. Took car to drags with less iginition timing and a bit more methonol, but it was a pretty hot day, in the cars current state it didnt do as well as i'd hoped. Traction was a major issue, had stodgies & locked diff, traction in first was a nono (so bad reaction times) + babying clutch and gearbox - , got low 14 second @ 161kmph (100mph) thats in a 31 Ti (luxury spec)

Different story under WOT, bogs a bit down low (the extra acceleration gets you no where) until about 4000rpm, in first gear it breaks traction and goes sideways, stays that way if you quick shift it to 2nd, makes its peak power at a bit above 6000rpm now and holds it until limiter (6800rpm), peak torque is at 5000rpm. if it wasnt for the sound you'd think it was turbo, it gets the power surge like its hitting boost, and goes from 100kw to ~170 in 2000rpm, feels good if you shift before the limiter because you hit where it builds power. When i give it a proper tune it should pickup a bit more bottom end, esp once vct gets sorted. i've got a stock turbo setup in a 31 making mid 160's, theres no comparison as far as noise and fun factor, n/a revs heaps quicker etc But turbs is definately a better daily, 5th gear overtaking no worries, the N/A you'd want it in third . yeah, 25det, havnt had the time or money to spend on the N/A atm, been working on my daily a bit, needs the timing belt changed (stretched) & new keyway, plus i need to fit the water injection & a few other things. gotta pull my finger out, meant to go for another run @ drags on the 29th. Got some better rims/tyres & clutch, hoping for 13's. i actually wanted ~ 11.5:1 CR, but it ended up being a bit more, not really a bad thing, they're meant to be able to handle 12:1CR on 98... and it does, just cylender temps letting it down. I've got a 52mm triple core radiator on the way, thinking of getting an oil cooler/relocation kit for it aswell - not sure if there'd be a benefit though, its life is fairly punishing, so reliability is an issue, built for track/strip, laps, drift and burnouts. edit: here are some vids, they dont do it justice, dont have any vids of my best runs, was at a test and tune day, i was figuring a/f mixes/timing etc This was taken by somone else, just andomly found it on youtube. Its one of my first runs, rich fuel mix and like 0 degree's timing, shifted a bit short into third, with the lack of timing+rich mix it bogged down. You'll hear it at the start, im holding it at 6500rpm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWUEvS9a3Hs This was taken by my drunk gf on her phone, bit embarressing i must of clipped the indicator turning in, figured it halfway down the strip and turned it off, haha. - Thats with around 15 degrees timing with about 30% methonol, it was once again VERY rich, methonol comes out whitish when rich (no its not oil) in this run i got mid 14, gave it a bit much on take off and had to back right off to get traction, sorry about qulity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzsZxrK1mSc
