It's a version 5 RS by the looks of things, with those kms they tend to command a bit of a premium. I'd say he would have paid around 35k for it, the remainding 5k on the loan probably covered other things? RBs are the more base model (smaller brakes, no strut brace, smaller wheels, slightly less power etc) and they go for 25-32k normally.

10-03-08, 15:35 GMT+10#128 17 Grand doesn't even buy you a thumped S6 that needs a rebuild, generally speaking
Aus spec S7 would sell for around 30k generally speaking..
RZ would be 70k plus (They only built 175)... Spirit R 45k (more common) maybe?

a friend of mine bought a series 6 with a blown engine for 12grand just recently
and the aussie spec s7 was a lady owner that wanted 24 and then droped to 17
rz you will get one for 50grand

10-03-08, 21:01 GMT+10#132 Right on Jack....it was 35...i took the loan out a bit extra to pay for other ****..
And silver wagz. I took the wing off for a couple of days, I didnt like it. Without a kit and no wing it looses all its agressiveness...kinda looked like a jag, real soft.
Next plans are a new front bar without the numberplate holder, vented bonnet, painted calipers, detailed/chromed engine bay and some red recaros.
Oh and I have a pretty big system that Im putting in aswell. Rockford T2 12" and rockford Power series 1500WRMS amp.

A non registerable race car goes for about 8-10K.....a series 6 would be about 20-25K depending on mods....series 7 is 25K-30, series 8 is anywhere between 30 - 40 depending on condition/kms/mods....mine was preety immac and with low K's so I was happy to pay what I did.
A rebuild for one of these things with decent performance parts is about the 8K mark, If the seals havnt destroyed the housings that is and that doesnt include any bolt ons or accessories. A decent turbo setup is in the 6K region. So buying one in **** condition, with blown turbos or engines isnt always cheaper or better
