I'll swap the wires and see what happens, they were changed directly from the corresponding slot on the original so I'm not sure what happened there. I think I'll be replacing 3 spades with yellows, as I said to fit the blues, even with the wires twisted nice and tight, a few strands were forced back to allow the wire to fit inside the crimp. even though there's some dodgy wiring in my car, all the wires in the fuse rail are factory. I'll check them again and let you know which ones I need to correct.
Well, It's in the car already! I watched mikes movies on the install and thought that won't take me long! Anyway, after about 3-4 hours it's in and working. All in accordance with the instructions except the wires on the input side from the battery and ignition which needed the large yellow terminals to fit the wires in. I used an extra 9 of these. Although the only terminals that I could find had no insulation covering the ends of the terminals, so I just put heat shrink over them all.
My pics of the job are here: http://home.iprimus.com.au/avster/pics/fusechange.html

Ah ha, I think I might have been a bit more brutal pushing the wires
in on the main lines in that I tinned them first, then squashed them up
with a pair of pliers to make them fit so I didnt have any strands
left but, yes having more yellow spades would be better. So thats
13 yellow spades instead of the 4 original yellow and 9 blue ?
Your pictures are damn good, very clean and a neat set with good lighting
and colour balance, can I add them as a client install example on the
distribution CD ? If so do you want to add some overlay text of your own ?
And curious what camera you used - a "KODAK CX7330" perhaps ;-)
2.8 f stop, no flash, 1/15 sec shutter ?
Geez Scotty, how many relays do you want? My car has about half of those, and it has all the power options, just shows how dodgy the install was. I might do something about it one day, but it all works so why mess with it? I got some yellow spades from Jaycar, $3 for 8, so I'll change the ones I need, think in my car it will be 7 yellows all up, I'll check on the blue and red. Also I swapped the headlight and highbeam wires, LEDs now work with fuses out, so thanks for the tip there. Car is going good so far, had problems with battery going flat, but found it was the boot light switch, common thing for the bracket to bend. Finished my parcel shelf today, so hopefully it and the rear seat will be back in by Sunday night, have to re-run power wire to amp, was on same side as RCA's, not much noise but enough to justify moving it. Not many jobs left on the list now, slowly getting them down, then it's serious mod time if I can find the cash.
Mike, feel free to use any of my pics. The only thing I would add would be 1. cut the wires as close as possible to the fuse rail as you can. I cut some of the bottom of the fuse rail to get in as close as possible. and 2. If you use after-market terminals with exposed terminals to cover them with heat shrink for protection. That's about it though.
Yes you were spot on with the camera! It is a Kodak CX7330. How the hell did ya guess that????
Yeah Waughy there's enough there! The extra one to the right of the fuse rail sitting loose is for the boost controller (on/off function).

Mike, I just added 3 more pics from the install onto the web page. If you want these pics in their original large size let me know and I can dump them onto a cd and send them to you. Or just email them one or a few at a time.

Great yeah, easiest all round would be to email me, I can take up
to 100Megs before it bounces but each email should be less than 4Meg,
cheaper than a CD if you can stand your upload link being clogged
for a few minutes...
What I would like to do is make a rogues gallery as there is a bit
of space on the CD not used up with funny videos or surplus stuff,
Thanks

Purchased the fuse rail back a few months ago last year, september/october sometime, and now that i'm in Perth, i finnaly got the time to install it. I watched the CD a few months back once, and remembered a few things that had to be done. My biggest problem was the previous owner had the car at some RAC Mechanic shop, and for the melte fuses, they looped them accross (as seen in the pictures), all well, and good... but be damned if i knew what they fit.
So 9am this morning, i pulled the new fuse rail out of one of the bottem of the boxes, i still have packed, and started working on the fuses. 1st thing to do was figure out what the looped fuses went too. After a while of fookin around, I lebeled them all, from 1 to 8 (fair few out). Then got busy with the solder and cutters and at 12pm, I had the new fuse rail installed... a couple of times, ran inside, and checked the CD provided, but other then that, very straight forward.
Amazingly, even my Centeral Locking now half works. Overall, a Great Product. Im not too eletrical, but the installation was very straight forward, and no major hassels.
Now I'm going to try and install the cruise control I brought a few months back! See if that works
Below are some quick pictures, the complete gallery is at my website...

Thanks for the pictures, put them in the rogue's gallery
The central locking prob might be the solenoid connector in the
door, plus the connector on the sensor block. You really have to remove
the door trim and get to the spades and clean and retighten them...
Good luck,
