ok well the next stage has begun. that is namely returning the car to near stock (note the near to kjeep bogs happy) it will have the soundsystem, interior and exhaust returned to stock with a few things here and there tidied up while i am at it. complete detail etc. shed atm - (pulling off exhaust) interior being done - soundsystem - out vs seats - out s2 rear bench - out exhaust - out lots to go, mainly - drivers seat extractors rocker cover also i went to start the car today and guess what... it won't catch! maybe the cas is gone? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

lol i bet you do! you don't really NEED more tools than me but also account for my limited mechanical knowledge, the first time i took off an exhaust manifold it would have taken me an hour - 2 hours alone. i had a hell of a time trying to figure out not how to take off my gas crossover... but ensureing i knew how to put it back on properly! good news my head looks really clean! needs an oil chamge before i sell it though, as does my vlt. edit - i looked at that crossover for about 3 weeks before i started attacking it! i had absolutely no ide what i was doing and was ready to tighten it back up if i started getting gas coming out of it! for a bit of perspective there are 5 tubes going into / out of it not to mention the in and out for the airflow.

ok exhaust, rocker cover, exhaust mani and a new cas are all in and ready to go... except shes not running! ah well i have the advice now to get it going so we will give it a crack. i have to spray up the rear bumper, get the car detailed, remove drivers seat and look at a rwc before shes ready to sell but we are on the way. oh and the exhaust has all new gaskets so she should pur like a kittem when its running again. someone is going to pick up a hell of a smooth car.

yeah i am thinking i will bang it up f.s. as soon as its running again and just see what happens. i will be getting a r/w check and i might just do what i can myself and what i have time for and instead of selling it with a rwc i will just have the roady check and reciepts of what i have done as proof. with 2 other cars on the road needing attention and the calais taking up room / parents pushing me to sell it i think its time to go no matter the state of the car. edit - now advertised f.s. at 2.5k thats cheaper than minimum chips at the local fish and chippery! all enquiries via pm or email must include name and contact ph number.

bloody oath. i can't even begin to list what i have done to this car. the parts which have been scrounged from various wreckers yards on a weekly basis just to get parts that meet my standards would be such a list that noone would read it... both satelite switches taillamp surrounds bootmould door moulds front doorskins centre console highrise airbox lid cai airbox piece... anyway you get the idea. i'm not perfect but i am better than a lot of vl owners and anybody who has ever tried to buy a used vl will find my knowledge of my car and attention to detail refreshing. edit - i have probably spent over $200 on entry fees to wreckers yards at a dollar a pop... think about that. theres a reason ank calls me DIY lol

Umm Mitch.....might I point out the giant smudge on the front passenger seat!? How'd you go fixing that rear LHS quarter damage? Fuck it looks nice. Hopefully it won't get muztekk'd by the buyer.

yeah it came up good tim, all the crap is under the bar so it looks smooth. just needs a better paint job on the rear bar as the one that myself and a mate did was 2 primers, 3 silvers and 2 gloss coats in 4 hours including prep and fitting. thats on all 6 parts... the next buyer's plans are - s2 interior ve gts 20"s new motor 35 / 40 race it / weekender (nsw p plates) i am stoked that it is going to a nice huy and also that i will not have to see it wrapped around a pole or on its roof in frankston (its being sent to sydney) as for the smudge i haven't cleaned the engine bay or interior yet. the smudge was gained during storage and i'm not 100% sure what it is. should detail out though. the engine bay is filth but as its sold the last thing i want to do is clean it and kill a brand new cas! the new owner should be more than happy with my standards of clean as a can of degreaser and a wet towell will see the bay sparkling in no time. also with a new motor going in all that work returning it to stock seems a waste!
