what caused the rear main to go on a fresh motor ?

Theyre blaming the gasket. They tell me that theyve had a few chevs do it lately and had a few arguments with the gasket company. I dont see why they keep using it if theyve got problems - but theyre fixing it. Its not just dripping either, itll leave a 50-100mm patch under it after I shut it off. Just one of those little hiccups that will get ironed out soon enough.

Good to hear its gettn fixed with no drama's. Its weird you say that they're blaming the gaskets, cos we had a dodgy set of gaskets and seals, at work a few months back. left a few customers unhappy with rebuilds.

We're back in action. I took it for a spin today and it went well. Turns the tyres fairly hard into top gear with 5 people in it... pretty wrapped. It wasnt actually a rear main seal... it was something so stupid... an oil pressure line wasnt sealing properly. Very hard to see and hard to diagnose... but we're all sorted now!

Update on the auto! Its getting fixed under warranty... it blew a seal and sprag. No damage to anything other than that. So theyre upgrading it to a heavier duty race sprag (higher up than the one I had). If this one cant handle it ill probably drop a 2 speed glide into it.

Yeah we're seeing how this goes. He said he hasnt seen one go unless its pumping out big power. He doesnt believe its only got 470. I said he can have my dyno sheet I mentioned my concerns about racing it on slicks and his response was do it, thats what its built for, if it breaks ill fix it or we will look at a glide or 400. Its good that theyre backing me up, makes me feel alot safer instead of a fragile auto made from glass! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

mm forgot your cars a bit of a boat (a rather sexy one) a glide would make you want more power Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

His point was why would you stuff around with a 3 speed when you dont use first gear on the street any way and youll run better times with a glide, youll never break it and theyre not expensive when compared to a three speed. But... as my luck goes it will be raining this weekend no doubt and I wont get to drive it lol. Last weekend was sunny all weekend when my car was broken. Its always the same. This thread needs some more pictures.

(http://imageshack.us) (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=241&i=newengine001tr7.jpg) All back and ready for action! I took a video of it revving but its 93 meg... got to work out how to lower the size a bit. Goes good... fuel economy is an issue however. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
