A small plane few down really low over the skid pan and took those pics.

Maybe its just the angle but the front end of the SS looks way to small for the rest of the car. Completely out of proportion. I'm not inmpressed with any of the pics/photos I've seen so far. They look too much like all the other euro sh!t on the market. They just don't look tough enough. Looks like they're trying to ditch the Aussie muscle car image to me. I mean look at the Latest Falcon, it looks mean as, like "Don't f**k with me!" type thing. But IF THESE PICS ARE ACCURATE!!!! they present a soft as pillows image with a "Oh I'm sorry, am I in your way? I'll just move over for you now. My sinscere apologies" attitude. Anyway, for me it's usually the HSV touch that that brings new models up to par. Here's hoping.....

Exactly what I think. Looks way too Euro-ish and the front end is a little small for the rest of the body. It is a mix between and Audi S8, BA Falcon and maybe an Accord.
Honestly, by what the VE looks like. A 6.0L LS2 wouldn't suit it. It looks like something you'd V-TEC

the ve test models have been runnin around sa's northern suburbs for a few weeks now, covered in that car-bra crap to try n disguise them. if the shape of the body is anything to go on, the ve will look too much like a vectra or astra, just bigger. it's a shame holden's going down the same path as mitsubishi did last year...
More pictures from Hatzi (ls1.com.au)
The statesman is indeed a very imposing vehicle and looked very sharp, unlike the overhead spyshot. Look at the back seats very large and roomy, great for limos.
The wheels are small, definately a great candidate for 21 inches or more mags.
Also notice the very nice rear passenger LCD screens. Very yummy

that one in the new photos looks like the stato version, standard rear tv's, noice! stupid 360 ripoff, make me wanna buy one...
And does anyone else think the SS looks too much like a BA?
in the very bottom SS pic, it looks like a BA from the back which is really sad =(
i wish they could get some better photos of the back of it
but the door handles on the latest pic, they are HOT!
i wanna get a set for the VL!
and look.... ITS KEYLESS

yeah 6ltr V8 and a 200kw V6, perfect for the fuel prices of today.
Your forgetting that the 6L is better on petrol than the outgoing 5.7L.
The L76 (6L) would also have new technologies like DOD and VVT, and on upper spec models would also have 6 speed autos.
A recent newspaper showed that a camry would cost $97 for a full tank and the current commie would cost $104 to full tank, a very small price to pay IMO.

engine capacity, amount of cylinders (and what shape they're in), and power dont have an exact correlation to the amount of fuel used......
6L V8 uses far less fuel than a 4.2 from the old Holdens...
a 200kw Alloytec most probably uses less fuel than a 114kw RB30e
and yeah, the Statesman/Caprice door handles are fantastic
