I'm not really sure about this, but a common problem with the JSPEC cooler it is the cooler piping keeps blowing off the AFM when hitting high boost. Have you guys sorted out the problem or you guys recommend animal clamps?

i have run 19 psi and never had a blow off from the afm, only once from the throttle body but that was my fault for using a **** clamp...anyway phill what do u care?? u dont even own a vlt?

haha hamoud i have experienced alot of pipes blowing off my mates vl, running not even 15psi and blew pipes off the turbo, throttle, afm etc. My bros pipes dont even need good clamps, ran 15psi+ and didnt blow anything off. Howcome the pipes do blow off? not made well enough or just too much boost for what everything can handle?

they blow off becuase people are too pussy and think its tight enuff when its not.. better clamps do help just like the ones trucks use.. and if you have to keep doing the clamp up over time it will stuff up and not work well. what type of kit did your bro get for his 180sx? what type of clamps is he using? again totally different setup.

Hese using the BLITZ LM cooler kit with all the cilicon hosing and clamps supplied, cooler piping also by blitz. I have a pic of the whole kit ill host it up. The clamps are just standard clamps, and the mechanic who installed it said it might not be good enough to hold, but it seems to be holding up pretty well. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

phill the kits are very well made...and ask around the whole forum and you will get nothing but positive feedback...if you dont like it dont enquire as they dont need lil immature, unexperianced, non car owning customers like you that arnt even genuinly interested but rather just causing trouble for a business you havnt even visited...come to the workshop and let james or marc show you there kits once u buy a vlt man...

hamoud i wudnt be suprised if i know a hell lot more than you do man, unexperienced? i might not be a full qualified mechanic dude, but compared to u, ill throw u away. I wasnt causing trouble, i was stating a problem a few of these kits MAY have had, just from experience with a mates vlt and the same piping. I wasnt saying those kits are sh!t, i cudnt have done a better job with the kits. Good on james and marc from jspec for producing a kit like that and being so affordable, especially for helping this site out and doing better deals for members. Hamoud, i think Marc and James can take care of their own butts, with the questions they get asked from numerous people with a curious mind.

yeah thats one nice kit your bro has phill. the thing is the one for them and the kit for a vl turbo are totally different becuase of the way the engine is and the design of the pipes on both cars. like i said it all comes down to the person doing up the clamps if they over tighten them to start off with you will have problems or if you dont tighten them up things will start to blow off. i know someone who blew off his cooler piping and sod oes matt jet-6 too was a crack up only becuase he didnt do them up tight enuff. hehe :)

phill, i think hamouds posts are justified as he does know marc and james from what i believe. if ur telling him not to be the messenger for them, i suggest u stop being the messenger for ur "mates". if your mates have had the problem, they can post it and we'll probably get a reply. my 2c :)

The problem with the kits could be rectified by having a lip on the end of the piping and supplying "T" clamps, just put the price of the kits up. I fitted one this weekend to a car and 10 psi resulted in hoses coming off.

The kits do have a rolled lip on the ends of every pipe. We dont supply tbolt clamps as it does raise the cost of the kit substantially and we havent experienced many pop offs to justify supplying these tbolt clamps with the kits. Every now and then we do get a popoff or two but thats expected because of the setup of the vl piping kit (long) compared to other kits like the 180sx and the like. 98% of our kits can withold at least 15psi of boost any higher we do recommend the use of TBOLTS as they do provide a higher clamping pressure than the standard clamps do. Id rather keep the kits at an affordable price to everyone then put the price up and add other parts in. Might look at adding those in in the future though and work something out with the price. Hopes this clears everything up with popoffs. Any other questions im happy to answer??? cheers marc
