How many Turboed cars were there back in 1986 in Australia? Remember a XR6T is like 2 years old as oppossed to a 20 year old Turboed Australian RWD 6 Cyl.Back in the day people would've said a VLT was one of the most powerful Holdens ever made. If it wasnt for VLTs and other early Turbo Vehicles there would be no XR6Ts,R33s,Supras,WRXs,Lancers etc. XR6Ts will do nothing for Australian Motoring history IMO.Yes they have 240Kw and yes they have a big Turbo but thats like most Turboed cars of today atleast a VLT is a powerful car for its time. Anyways the point is XR6Ts are nothing if you like them well thats your decision if not join the club with me.Holden and Ford shouldnt be worrying about whistling Turbos anyway they should both stick to what they both do best and thats good old ground thumping V8s.

Did you read my post? i was not bagging VL turbos, i have been a member here for at least 5 years so obviously i am a fan of them. I was pointing out your comment "its just a straight 6 with a turbo" Have you ever driven one? have you compared them (XR6T) to LS1s and the XR8s? not comparing them sitting at your computer, but by driving them and seeing what they are really like? anyways, horses for courses.. ive been a holden man since i was born, but since the BA's have come out i have changed my mind a bit.. even considering buying an XR6 Turbo Ute when i sell my VT if i cant find the other car that im after.. hate them if you want but some of your points dont make sense.. oh well.. (by the way, XR8s have more power but the turbos are quicker down the 1/4 mile and 0-100).

Mr86.... you are a tool... from what stoney has said he is right.. go and test drive the cars.. i have driven LS1 XR8's Xr6's and XR6 turbos... if i had the money i would most likey buy the new FPV turbo ute... i am a holden fan but the BA's are pretty good yes the motor in the 6 is a inline 6 but holden do have a v6 but it wont sit in the engine bay right... so lay off and make sure you really do read what someone else said before you bother to post a reply... like every car they have there problems not just the xr6t....
