I have a mate who got an eagle done on his arm, and a word that means alot to him done on his left ankle. He has no reason for the eagle other than it looks cool. He is 18 at the moment.
I wouldn't get a tat unless it was representing something very meaningful in my life. Like my old lady for example, she got a rose tattooed on her back because it was her mothers birthday (who was called Rose) and it was the day and year she would of turned 70 (although she has unfortunately passed on when she was 61). And my old lady (who was 47 at the time, and thought about it ever since my grandmother died atleast 8 years before).
To me that is a good reason for a tattoo, and I would get my parents names (or even my brothers name), or a symbol that best represents them tattooed on me, just as something I can always carry with me to remember them by. My grandfather went to war and had a zippo lighter engraved for me in the same style of writing for me as he had, and his favorate saying before he died. I knew nothing of this until I inherited it in his will, I got nothing else from him, but I would of prefered the lighter over a million dollars.That lighter stays with me every where I go and I got suspended from school countless times because I had it on me, and once hit a teacher trying to take it off me, its one of my last memories of my grandfather, and if I lost it, I would tattoo that saying on me, somewhere where I would see it every day. Although I am not gonna lose it, I havent even let my closest mates play with it in fear of them droping and scratching it.

Got the tattoo today. Looks amazing, i'm really happy with it turned out better than i ever imagined. Really painful when doing the outline at first then when i relaxed it was much better.
i got it done at south coast tattoo in corrimal. chris rand did the work. Will try get pics up compeltely forgot about this thread. tat is now completely healed. LOl once its healed its like that wasn't so bad should go get another hahah. If only money wasn't a issue.
in regards to south coast tattoo i was talking to a bloke last nite who reckons that they aren't the best. He highly recomends going to steve benn's place in dapto, apparently he is the **** when it comes to tats in the illawarra.

Yeh steves is next to the chemist in dapto. Have heard good things about him. Have a look at their work first. I had a look at south coast and chris rand's work was really good so i asked him to do it over the other tattoo artists at south coast.
