Anyway I dropped into the engine builder today & he said they should have retarded the cam because if it was hitting the valves. The intake valves sit lower than the exhaust valves. So I'm going to have the tuner speak to the engine builder. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Not if it kisses lightly, my brother had a motor built about 12-13yrs ago, and they never checked piston to valve clearance, at 8500rpm they where just touching he found out when he pulled it down to look at headgasket a few thousand km's later. It did a fair bit of damage but at the time still ran fine and made no noises ---------- Post added 29-01-11 at 12:47 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by HTURBO [View Post] Yeah I wish I could. Then trailered down to Melbourne for a tune. The block was built about 4 years ago & just recently had the head built and installed everything myself. Today I spoke to the engine builder & he said he'll liaise with the people tuning the car. Also the people tuning the car said they'll sick a little camera down the spark plug hole to see if there is any kissing going on lol. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

This is my first RB30et build and would like to know what sort of cam and valve springs would be best to run with my setup. I have a fully forged bottom end, the head is going off to get ported soon. Im running a GT3540R with .70 compressor and .82 rear and most likley a Haltech ecu. Im aiming for 300rwkw.
