Bro got his today. i get my full licence on the 30th of june. would have been a good laugh if i got it a day later.
Wouldn't the intelligent decision (and the original plan) of vicroad's to have the NEW P Plater's go on to green P's, been so much better?
To differentiate themselves from other states, and to seamlessly allow the whole system to tick over, as opposed to pissing off every current P PLater?
Ohh and you also have to have be on them until you are 22, if you have a good driving record.
What a crock of $hit.
Why can't vicroads pull their head out of the nsw rta's ar$e and follow one of the good states, where full license is obtained at 18, P's a 15,9 months/ 16?
But nooo... they have to install more speed cameras, and make life harder for P Platers, in a beleaguered, blind, misguided attempt to curb the road toll (of which the rate of decline has slowed since Bracks was elected) MORONS
Reasons for stupid rules that cushion people against reality, and disallow them to learn; ..... decrease road toll... apparently... maybe.
Reasons to relax rules;
Natural selection,
University of WA finding that 'kids' in hi performance cars account for 3% of youth crashes, and 5% of young road users,
What the hell do these kids on the new rules do once they advance, and are privy to the relaxed, advanced rules?
The day i get my full license, i am gonna get around like every other 'experienced' fully licensed driver; blind, sideways, straight through 'stop' signs, 'give way' signs, red lights, and smoking sideways at 200 through school zones, throwing my stubbies at other drivers.
With the cost of petrol, and the environment, wouldn't it be smarter to encourage kids to car pool, as well as designated drivers?
Some how, government findings led them to believe that having more cars on the road, and more people risking driving after drinking, is safer than having the 'peer pressure' of passengers in your car.
Peer pressure? what peer pressure, If i am driving home one morning, and i see a clear intersection, and no traffic, there will be hoops. I dont want to endanger my friends, so i would be way more likely to 'take risks' (risks in who's eyes? I have been driving like this since i was 4, natural selection hasn't got me yet) when i am by myself.
Sorry for the rant. It is late, or early

i dont see why people are getting pissed off? lol
if you get the green Ps it means that the new laws dont affect you, so its got nothing to do with us.
we just put up our green P plates and battle the cops when they try and cahrge us for the new laws that dont affect us...
i agree that its stupid to send out millions of P plates to existing P platers rather than make new P platers get green plates.
the money it cost to do this could have been put to better use...
but we all know how the government works

i cant beleive all the idiots saying there not going to display the plates, i mean seriously enough of the rebel act, 3points from the whole 5 that ur allowed to lose in a 12 month period....doesnt leave you many point to fall back on incase u get caught doing something more serious, which no matter how much u deny it u will do at some point in time!
i personally cant see myself losing 3 points over a miserable P plate and the fact that its green, do u guys actually think the red ones looked good or something? lol

Could you knock up some white on green plates yourself and put them up?
Don't see why not considering there are many different manufacturers of p plates etc. at shops.
