Yeah they are different... My brother has owned several RWD jappa's. He loves his Nissans. He's owned several R32 Skylines, a few Cefiros, a Laurel and as of this arvo just got a S13 Silvia with an RB20DET in it. It needs some work but the hard part is already done and certed - the engine conversion! Basically all of them have been turbo'd - some he got already turbod others he converted! He is a big fan of the RB series of engines... and i can see why - they are a very strong engine and quite simple to work on - although some of the newer versions have emissions crap and other stuff on them that makes life harder...
Basically as far as i am concerned R32 Skylines were streets ahead of other cars of that era... as are most other Skylines - Especially GTR's! His Skyline's handled far better than my Commy before I did the suspension. His mate has a drift R33 too which is pretty quick and has solid as suspension... not the best for street driving but great for drifting!
Anyways, I'm not going to trade my Commy in anytime soon... too many Skylines on our roads as it is - its nice to be in NZ with a relatively tidy VL as they are getting few and far between. Plus you always get some people commenting and stopping ya to have a ramble - its all good... unless you're in a hurry
Well... thats my 3 cents,
Later,
Jason

I was talking about 2003+ STI WRXs or EVOs. Those old twin turbo GTBs are crap and slow. A 2003+ STI with a full exhaust straight off the turbo would be similar pace to my VL, but with traction, handling, reliability and driveability to go with it

Put in a new starter, that helped a lot, but after 3 quick starts it failed. Ran a separate zero gage cable from the battery in the boot directly to the starter motor. Now starts 100% of the time

It's not that great here alot of wind and the odd shower if you've got a sheltered seat out of the wind you should be ok
Any one seen the bilboard at Drury its a ford sign and tells holden drivers to do a U turn at Ramarama off ramp and not to go to the V8's bloodly hell.

So we aren't talking my price range then?
The newer subaru blocks are weaker than the mid 90s ones, they swtiched to open deck.

Wouldnt touch one at all! Heard too many stories from past and present Subaru technicians, The non-turbo ones can be pretty good, my father used to have Subaru's before he switched to Territorys, the only one that gave him greif was his '01 Forester, 98,000km and the gearbox packed up.

I really don't understand the logic behind the Foresters.. they're no higher from the ground than a legacy and they have less space on the inside.
Main reason that I don't like subarus.. they're a complete whore to work on.
They are plenty higher, 200mm of ground clearance, which is about the same as a Land Rover Freelander, plus the Subaru has a low-range 'box, which makes it surprisingly capable as long as you aren't too hardcore. we only ever got it stuck once.

When I was first learning to drive, my dad told me to pull over.. I pulled up onto the muddy grass, the single spinner didn't want to move
And I guess anyone who buys a forester wants a legacy then and lowers it, cause I'm sure I've never seen one above an average cars ride height.

That would have to be the car I hate the most... black Forester lowered with ass dragging on chromeys, mirror tints and a loud as fark exhaust.... gay gay gay
