I would've adopted for type X subs and speakers but room was a problem as these speakers have fairly big magnets. The Alpine 1.1000 is rated a 2400watts, the type R subs are rated at 1400watts each and was able to run 2 speakers on the mono block because it's 2 channel. Alpine were saying that 1 mono block PDX1.1000 will only run 1 x 12inch type X sub and at $1000 bucks per amp I didn't have that much money. So I adopted for the type R and I tell you what I couldn't be happier. Awesome and clear sound with great polarity. Alpine were telling me that type X speakers are mainly for competition. Once the subs had run in I was able to re-tune the amp. But there's one problem, I can't see out of the rear view mirror because it vibrates so much. I'm not aware of the gains on the deck. I have the front filters set on high and the rear filters set on mid range. Subs are set at 80hrz I think. Hell I'm still trying to get use to the IVA-502 because their's so many options and no wonder why, the manual is about a inch thick. Great unit and couldn't be happier with it. Good to see my old thread is still kickin. Well I'm still into my stereo's, my last car (VL LS1 turbo) didn't house anything for obvious reasons however over the pass 2 weekends Ive been back at it. Ive since installed a new system in my mrs gen3 NM pajero. Alpine IVA-D310E head unit Front X-series front 6.5" splits (however had to use "R"type woofer to miss the door glass) Rear "S" type 6.5" two ways (rear doors) 12" S type sub Alpine 4 channel running all speakers Alpine mono block running sub Sounds really good due to being in a new model and the door trims/interior is really tight. Happy days Whitey

No show all go for me! I think i change mine around more often than jocks, so doing anything nice would be a complete waste of time. 148.5db @ 42hz Blown both rear windows, lifts the front wipers halfway up the screen on max, and moves other peoples mirrors at lights...
