No to a decompression plate. evil. As for how much to drill and tap the holes, your going to have to contact somebody that does machining, ask a few engine places around the joint. I wouldn't know where to start. Keeping in mind you can pick up an entire engine for 2-300 dollars and a block alone for 100.

a crossover pipe is the pipe from the turbo to the intake manifold and the "&amp" is programming lag for "and" "&amp" = & Quote: Originally Posted by Max Boost could someone tell me what a crossover pipe is? and what is the '&amp' written a few times in the list? i have been running a decompression plate and have had no probles with it. i think that a lot of people state bad things about them with out ever having used one. the one i used was made by alc and only needs one head gasket, not two Quote: Originally Posted by Bax No to a decompression plate. evil.

I was under the impression they both had the same part number from Bosche. As for the decompression plates, yeah I'll admit that I've heard bad things about them and thats mainly why I haven't bothered. Especially when they seemed to have stepped up in quality alot - But I guess with the lower compression alot of people think instantly you can run big big boost. I'd be worried still with a gasket in there. But if it can hold it can hold Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah the oil return connection you get from enzed, you take that piece out, and you take the hose in, and you say I want a barb fitting with this thread and that size hose fitting. All pumped by the engine, I wouldn't worry about setting up cans.. Just use whats there

The one at the very bottom of the engine bay with the big nipple isnt on my car, its got the screw on my r31, but the r32 has the screw and the nipple + the nut, i cant take it out to put on the r31, ive been trying all day yesterday the god damn thing doesnt want to come out Also what did you guys use for the water return pipe around the back of the block ? i need to T-piece into that, but the water retun hoses are huge and the hose from the turbo into that is small, i checked all super cheaps and odins in my area and none of them had a 3-piece setting with 2 big nipples and 1 small one, so, what would you reccomend? basic turbo conversions cost $1000 in parts, or 2 grand if taken to a backyarder to fit it. complete factory turbo engine with bolt ons will usualy set you back $3000 obviously no box no diff. i have loads of banjo bolts. don't ask how where or why. (yes they are legal) $10 each

2k for a bolt on conversion? ive spent no more then 400$ so far on parts, take 100$ out of that for a new set of tools as well, so around 300$ all up. when you start talking about "diffs, cams, pistons" etc, its no longer bolt on conversion Any way, does anyone know what the bottom bolt on the r31 is called with the nipple? is that the banjo bolt? if so ill jsut go and buy one from odins or something as i dont want to buy from someone over east and wait 3 - 6 days for it to arrive as i need this done bassically by the end of the week lol. edit : holy crap, im never going to odin auto parts ever again, that place is ***ing rediculous. Nothing more to say lol. I have more questions, SORRY!!! Picture 1 - Can hose A be t-pieced with the hose that would come of nipple B. If not, can i just block nipple B off as my vl turbo cross over pipe doesnt have a hole or anything to plug nipple B into, But my stock cross over pipe does. Im assuming pipe C from picture 1 goes onto nipple C from picture 2 on the VLT cross over pipe. Picture 2 - Where do pipes B, A, D and E go on picture 2 ? And can i simply remov pipe F, or does it need to be routed somewhere onto the intake manifold? If so, where on the intake manifold can it be placed, as on the VLT engine there is a spot for it but on my N/A engine there doesnt seem to be. Sorry for asking so much about this, But i dont want to be driving along and when i hit boost i cant use my brakes or something like that. Also, I like nipples. Picture 1 Picture 2 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Do the conversion yourself, everything is a straight bolt on if you have the series 2 block.

Hey guys I have a VLT but did the bottom end and the head is no good.. ..but appart from that i have all the other parts for conversion and obviously a factory vl turbo with the right brakes diff ect .. So my question is cheapest way to get my car back on the road i was thinking is to get a rebuilt wiked condition rb30e and convert it myself?? ..because i already have vlt fuel pump and all the other bull**** that you NA guys are missing will my conversion hold more boost and more importantly will the engine hold the turbo conversion?? How long will it last, what are its weak points ect .. your advice much appriciated Daniel Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hi guys, Just wondering how much do you think the bottom end of a N/A motor could handle once its already got the right fuel pump, reg, injectors etc..and just a decom plate, 14 - 15 psi? more.. less? basically whats the most power u can make out of a N/A bottom end with just a decom plate and for it to still be reliable :P

I don't think it will hold more boost as such, but it will hold it - are you going to be running an intercooler setup? As for what power can you make out of the high comp turbo conversion, I'd be looking at r31 skyline forums in all honesty, ask them. As these guys have pushed the limits of high comp turbo conversions more then what the vl guys have done so far. I'm fairly sure I've seen some very high figures, 200+
