Spoke to a guy who bought his 1987 Calais turbo brand new in April 1987. It was first registered on March 30th and it's a series I. So assuming his car was built in March I'm guessing changeover to series II occured around April or May '87

My 87 Exec (also with the SL on the intrior) had Lumber support for both driver and passenger. And I've seen a VL with the red interior, can be seen here HTML Code: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1258&item=2491665398&rd=1 I have also seen a berlina with Power windows and a sun roof. I took it for a test drive the other day, i almost bought it 2... pitty i didnt quite have enough moolah.

I have a september built 87 berlina it has black handles, jesus handles, eletric mirors, rear interior lights, electric arial. I thinks Aus880 is correct the Series II change over was around March-May. I did notice that the seats are more squarish for series 1 Berlinas SLs, and Execs. The series II is more rounded off with the kangaroo pouch behind the front seats.
