some visual progress. took the axles out on my way towards getting the centre out. got the brake stone guards and brackets at work getting bead blasted to clean the whole lot up. hopefully i can get the diff blasted and painted at work as well. If i have axles out and just make some plates to bolt on over holes should be alright for bead blasting ?

Nah i can get bead blasting done for a packet of biscuits at work, so I put steel plates over the axle holes with a bit of gasket glue and sealed up the centre cover plate so should be good to go. say good bye to crusty looking diff !

Reveal. Sexylicious spruced up diff and bits. Now the question is do i clean the hell out of the underside of the car and respray with underbody stuff or does that start a domino effect of where to stop. Also what new bushings do/should i get ??

In the process of giving the brakes and overhaul before i chuck them back on the rear end. pain in the ass to get the calipers out but got there in the end. Ill get the blasted up, paint them and put some new seals in should look good. Got new solid brake lines made up for the rear as well. Dont know what colour i should paint then, was thinking silver or dark gold will look good with the black diff ? Also thinking i might buy the braided lines set off trademe for all 4 corners while im at it

Thanks bro always helps the motivation getting some good comments. Noticed the beast had been smoking a lot so whipped the front of the turbo and sure enough looks like the seals are gone In the mean time i had been saving for an upgrade and what better way to kick things off then a gnarly big turbo Introducing the K27 (Blitz 3470MOJ) with K29 compressor wheel that is tucked into a machined out compressor housing. Got my LSD rebuilt and spec'd up at Steelie Gears. Really good bloke and would recommend him to anyone dealing with VL or similar era commodores. Now to re-assemble the rear end with new discs, pads and hopefully some bushes in the trailing arms etc. And some pics cause everyone loves pics Went to Europe in June/July and managed to get to Gatebil in Norway, ridiculous festival. Epic wall ride drifts all weekend long and close as you can get leaning over the front straight wall. Met Magnus Walker, really good dude didnt mind having a yarn with annyoing strangers Hectic LS1 turbo Evo 3. 650 HP at the rears on 7 psi

Finally got the diff and associated parts together with all new trailing arm bushes and slotted the bitch in. Fresh blasted calipers Pick a part antics Delicious satin black paint job The old The new Plus obligatory jacked low photo whilst adjusting the handbrake Was an absolute mission to get the bushes out and new ones in because i was a mong and didnt burn/take them out before i painted the diff and then more annoying trying to line all the bolt holes up especially the forward upper trailing arm but got there in the end. felt bloody good when i heard it chirping the inside wheel as i drove out of the hanger Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
