POLISHING CALAIS RIMS Here is a step by step guide on how to polish your calais rims yourself. Im no pro here so if im leaving something out or doing something wrong just post it up. Cheers Scott.. 1. You will need.. *Sandpaper (P60, P120, P320 dry rub, P600, P1500 wet & dry) about $1 a sheet *Orbi sander ( you dont have to use an orbi but it beets doing it by hand) *Polish (i dont use ANY other polish apart from Purple polish) about $30 a bottle *Buffer (once again this will make shyt easyer. *Beer (...need i say more?) *Calais rims One. First i sand the grooves off the rims with P60 grit paper on the orbi. Should go from this to this Two. Then i sand them again with P120 grit paper on the orbi. Three. I then remove the 120 grit paper from the orbi and replace it with P320 grit paper and sand it till it looks like this Four. Next i wet rub it by hand with P600 grit paper. So get the hose out and drench the wheel and start sanding. Should look like this center cap Five. I then wet rub it again by hand with P1500 grit paper Six. Then i use the Purple polish to get it really shinning. just a couple more pics I only spent about half an hour on this wheel, it looks good from a distance but when you look closely you can see the small imperfections. The more time you spend on sanding these rims the better result you will get. So if anyone is thinking about getting someone to do this for them, just have a go yourself and save some coin. I hope this helps some fellow ct users save some money and sex up there VL Cheers Scott. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
