30-09-09, 07:11 GMT+10#165 cheers Locky,
i just want too drive it, cant wait too sit in the vl again, not the fan of the vs or the ute
got up a hour early this morning and put on the new oil feed pipe,
was stressing i would have to take all the turbo off but it didnt
managed too fit my ratchet ringy in the gap and the bolts werent too long
one prob is my gasket on top of the turbo for the pipe was split in half so ill see if i can get one today
started the car and no leaks besides the seaping where i didnt put he gasket in
tonight ill try getting it running right,
only idles with the accelrator being held a little, and has a slight miss still,
idling at about 400rpm so its low,
think its mainly timing but ill know soon enough
need too bleed my clutch too, tryed the other night and it wouldnt work, pedal had nothing. spoke with a mechani he said possibly the clutch master is stuck, so ill have a tinker too
got a video but on my phone, ill get one on my camera soon enough

problem solved
made a gasket tonight and put it in,
just got the car running very nice
some nob (me) left injector number 5 unplugged hehe
i change my plugs too my better plugs as i though the miss was from that
but was the injector
just checking over everything again and again,
only need too bleed the clutch too get it working and it will drive under its own power
YouTube - Its Alive...... the VL finally runs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZiypB7Y_hg)

tommorow morning it will be easyer now for the towie, no need to park across the road too winch the car up

04-11-09, 18:59 GMT+10#169 thanks AERO88
not much, just want too fix final things so it can be a daily then slowly work on things here and there
manifold is off and was delevired to my work
port number 6 was off major, can see in the pic that it doesnt line up with the 5th port
got it machined next door and he had too take 3mm off the whole thing too get it flat,
$50 to machine it so not too bad suppose
dropped it back off at the mechanics tonight so in the morning they have the guy coming out to helicoil the threads and then they will put it all back together.
they were looking at the turbo and the wastegate and apparently the wastegate is open all the time
the rod on the actuator is adjustable and its not holding the wastegate flap shut causing it to dump the boost before it even get up to factory boost pressure
so hence why im only getting 4psi :hmmm: well we assume
there going to adjust it so the flap sits shut anyway
pick up tommorow night,
we will see how things go:beer chug:

05-11-09, 16:26 GMT+10#171 decided not to do calais spec as its a berlina, not into making it something its not.
plus bright mica colours like this dont work too well in two tone,
looks tacky too me with diffrent colour bars or moulds
as for manifold, the turbo on looks crap compaired to the na one plus waste of more money for no gain
would of loved to gone after market plenum but i cant afford it, only a apprentice

11-11-09, 05:11 GMT+10#172 well its not too bad having no ac,
as long as im still moving and not sat at the lights ha
another 39 degrees is forcasted today
the intake pipe is still needs to be done properly,
the adaptor pipe between pod and the silicone needs cutting shorter so that you cant see it
and then painted
then ill have to figger out a way to make the front pipe of the turbo stop dropping making the pod drop near the skirt,
hence the zip ties
heres a few pics from this morning

21-11-09, 09:56 GMT+10#175 nope, just the horn
lucky though i found steering wheel and horn pad at u pull it, dark blue in colour
was the last car i looked in, my heart started racing when i saw it lol
got it off with out a puller luckly and paid 22 bucks for it
slight wear but looks pritty dam good now i cleaned it
whole of 10minutes and its in my car now, horn working and all :beer chug:
also out of that car there was a mint condition wiper switch block, allthe letters where still white and clean,
so gained that also
but wasnt a berlina so dont have the demister one
dash is almost all back to stock
headed down to the station tuesday and the officer walked out, i opened the door, hit the horn and pealed the sticker off......too easy

well sunday went for a little drive around and took some pics by the port, killed some time
not much will be happening for a few months as im saving for a holiday long over due holiday
heading up to the gold coast for 8 nights with the misses :beer chug:
car needs tuning majorly as its back firing a little at idle, enough to bug me :P
but this will only happen if i sell some parts and make the money if not it wont happen,
prob start driving the vs till i get it tune just to be safe

08-01-10, 10:59 GMT+10#180 a little update on whats the hap
been driving the car every where, done two long country runs - Mannum and goolwa
it was nice on the freeways and smooth
finally managed to get a full tank of fuel in, took close too 20 minutes though
as once you fill over half way it will say its full and kick fuel out and slowly go down
so had all look at all the breathers and the all in the right order......
out of the full tank i got 550km. so not bad at all
for christmas my Girlfriend bought me some goodies
new kenwood cd player, with ipod, usb functions
and a Boost guage
all wired up nicely, gauge lights up blue when ignition is on and when you turn the lights on it will dim
yesterday was looking through insurance and agree value,
happy with shannons,
put it this way, insured for enough to let me buy a ve from a local holden dealer :P - all parts and mods covered plus excess only $850ish
the engien is leaking oil from somewhere also, so today im going to have a look and see what it can do
