thanks guys, yea i thought it was timing as well so I pulled it all off and did it again. twice. Basically it idles fine and revs freely under no load but as soon as there is load it just has nothing. sounds like its making boost as you can hear it spool and it flutters when you back off but I haven't got the boost gauge on it yet. Also its missing the vacuum canister that sits on the plenum-block brace but from what I've read it supplies vacuum to the fuel regulator when the engines hot so it idles better. My current thoughts were that there was an air leak somewhere that i cant find or that there was a fuel supply issue. Bottom end is all new, reco head, new leads, dizzy, plugs, haven't had the motivation to check the ecu for fault codes though. I'll get the timing gun out again on the weekend anyway and see what it says.

So factory turbo and the like? How slow is slow? Will it accelerate at all? does it pop and fart or just accelerates slow?

mmm.... i might have to get my mate to drive me there... r we bbqing and drinking or what?? where was the meet point again??

hey i think it wil be in the carpark at woden again that seemed to be pretty convenient for evryone last time.. what does everyone think?

Could also be a fuel pressure issue, if you can get a fuel pressure gauge onto it to check things out. It could possibly be that the fuel reg is jammed or broken etc, does it blow much black smoke or anything? could even be a clogged fuel filter or a dying pump? As also mentioned does it miss and pop and fart etc
