Every Aussie seems to head to Niseko on Hokkaido (the north island). Rusutsu is a day trip from there and looks sweet. Not very steep, but massive Pow! Or you can head to Hakuba in the Nagano ('98 winter olympics)area which is a few hours from Tokyo. Alot steeper than Niseko, but not as much Pow, still plenty by aus/nz standards tho Guarantee either will rock your socks off, and you wont have too much difficulty with language barriers, but if you head to some of the other 1000 resorts around english might become a problem Just stay in hostels unless your goin with your mrs? Im pretty keen to get over next Feb, hoping to budget 6k for a 14 day trip Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm off to Niseko for 2 weeks in Feb. Hanging to try this Japow that everyone raves about. Pretty cheap when compared to the fact i paid $1000 for accomodation and $450 for lift passes at Perisher this year, and that was for 5 days

Yeah, got back from 2 weeks in Japan about 3 weeks ago. We were in Niseko, absolute Pow city over there. Was places that were thigh deep within the resort boundaries, waist deep out in the back country. Nice board, how much that set you back? Kane, you convinced the Mrs to let you get new gear for the season???
