Yep. I've got rolls of both the original plain grey and the stripy grey fabrics.
Even though the fabric on mine comes up amazingly clean, the front seats need doing and, when you compare the new fabric against a recently cleaned section, there's a sparkle and crispness in the new stuff that's missing in the old fabric.

Where'd you get that and do you know if it's still available? I'd love get some to re-do my front seats as well.

Just try various auto upholsters. It was hard to come by according to the guys I used in Adelaide a couple of years ago but others may have better luck. I don't know if it all comes from the same wholesaler or just whichever one put there hand up when Holden were selling of bulk rolls after production finished.
I asked for enough to do the whole car which they reckoned was 3m (1.4m wide) of plain grey fabric (hoodlining and seat backs) and 8m (1.4m wide) of ribbed grey fabric (everything else).
Three metres almost doesn't sound like enough for the headlining but I measured the longest section which is the B-pillar segment at 2.8m x 45cm) so with some clever cutting it should be enough.

Looks like it to me. Even having what looks like pristine freshly cleaned fabric in the car all you have to do is take off some of the door pinchweld to see how much the original fabric has discoloured over 20 years.
The fabric under the pinchweld or seatbelt fairing matches the grey on the roll almost perfectly.

Another one on Carsales from Liverpool NSW, Burgandy, V8, auto, $7,500.

have you got this one
Yep. Thanks Brandon. It's the third time it's been on Ebay in the last couple of months.
Nice looking car and history though. The original owner had it advertised for most of last year from country Qld. Just a pity it's not a turbo.
craig, have u got this wagon on the list, looks a little rough for my liking though.

Even if you could get the numbers off it for now would be brilliant.

Thanks for your details. Also sent a PM. As for the red one you linked, it's been for sale on and off for about a year. Looks genuine but a bit of a dog.

Yep, the parts book says they were optional on the 1988 A9Y cars Marty, and to bear that out these cars had a different part numbered rear seat frame to any of the other wagons.
Item #43 (Seats Rear) on the PBS for the 1988 cars says "CAL".
I doubt yours would have had it being 1987 unless HDT welded some brackets in perhaps.
I Have info on the Calais upgrade for all cars but no mention for the rear seat back rest for a wagon?
Could you post up a copy of what it says please.
I thought I have all the info on the VL's.Seams you learn more every day.
Cheers marty
Notice rear seat head restraint and cover both listed for Production Option A9Y only -
Note pad and frame (this doesn't include the fabric) is seperate to all other wagons -
