if you are going to use an R33 box with that you would also need to change the tailshaft yoke to the MX7 type, get an R33 slave cylinder and an MX7 speedo drive.
oh bugger, what is this gearbox harness you speak of the only wiring i was aware of was the neutral and reverse switches on the gearbox or are you referring to the fact that ive still got an auto box.. will a manual ecu do the trick ? eg will it plug in or do i need more

Doh, that didnt really answer your question! Anyways, does anybody know for sure if the auto yokes go into the r33 box?

9.5" button clutch kit with bearing also

okay here goes ill be the person to convert all these rumours into 1 big trumor haha converting from auto to a manual or changing over from the mf5/mx7 gearbox to a r33 gearbox u will need the following
R33 Manual Gearbox $1100
R33 Slave cylinder $ 50
R33 Flywheel $200 and make sure you get it machined $25
R33 Clutch kit which comes with thrust bearing, clutch, pressure plate and you should know the rest i bought the exceedy heavy duty brass button clucth kit with a cushoined center set me back $600bux from repco
The shifter is allright doesnt touch the handbrake but if ur dat fussed get a oxy and bend it up.
with the tailshaft the mf5 tailshaft wont fit because of the yoke and im not sure about the mx7 what i done was went to duggons in resevoir "very good blokes" i got a 1 piece tailshaft made what they done was asked me to get a hq tailshaft and they just replaced the yoke and it fits perfect to the diff and to the gearbox which cost me $125bux and thats balanced and sprayed and brand yoke and on a quick note it is a good aftermarket modifications and much more realiable than the old tailshaft because with the old 2 peice u have to worry about getting the unis replaced etc and so on but with the 1 peice its preety straight forward
speedo drive needs to be changed and can be sourced down from nissan
overall very strong box and can handel good power im currently maken about 240kw at the wheels and its been in there for about a good 6 months still doesnt miss a beat very very good box and worth the conversion
need any other info feel free 2 pm me

get it sleeved at the local brake and clutch shop if they can.
otherwise a new one will cost between $80-$150 at a guess.
r33 will not bolt straight up to firewall and has same size piston size AFAIK, so no point in fooling about with it, just get the correct part.

yeah, i just bought a new r33 slave, pedal was hard. went and bought a new VL slave, pedal was softer but still hardish. going to clutch and brake shop 2moro to see if they can bore it out and make it bigger. dont think it has anything to do with my clutch master cylinder though. will let you know what happens.

went and saw a brake & clutch shop today. its actually my master cylinder, its to big. im running a 1" bore master when VL's run 5/8 and 3/4. guessing 6cyl and 8 cyl. so just checked my VL gregory's manual and its 15.8***mm which is equilavant to 5/8". so now to buy a new master and see how that goes. hope this helps anyone else out.
cheers

do you have to modify the speedo drive at all? i have a new one ordered from nissan with the part no provided earlier in this post, but comparing it to the one from the R33 box it seems the plastic gear is a different diameter, how does it contact the spiral gear inside the box using the smaller cable type? do you need to swap the plastic gear over? also it doesnt seem to have anything to secure it in place like the r33 electronic type had?

it just needs to be pushed into place.its secured just the same as the r33 electronic type.and dont change the plastic gear over . i think i read earlier in here that the r33 box runs the same size gear as an mx7 box that drives your speedo.mine has been fine tested it against one of them electronic signs that tells u your speed before a speed camera lol..who knows how good they are though.
