12-02-08, 21:32 GMT+10#162 The one on my car is done in crinkle coat and looks realy good but I've got a spare one I just did in anodized red and it looks crap. I didn't polish it up enough. I think I'll have to send it away to get polished.

haha
mate if your using paint from a can its always best to do many light coats, can start with a primer undercoat which will help also, but you just gota take it easy for the first couple of coats with a good 5-10 minutes between coats.
the quality of the paint makes a BIG difference.
your standard run of the mill export paint = colored piss in a can.
spend a bit of extra cash and get some good quality paint and ull be sweet

02-03-08, 09:22 GMT+10#164 with the wrinkle paint, can you get it made in differetn colours? my mate wants a ferrari red for his inlet manifold and rocker cover (mr2 beams) and no normal red wont do, he is too much of a perfectionist

13-03-08, 15:50 GMT+10#169 i have my rocker cover off and all polished up and want to paint it the same colour as my car - cardinal red. Has anyone used acrylic paint before? Autobarn can mix the colour into a pressure pac. Otherwise its like a hundred bucks for 1 litre of 2pac.

Yeah there is, if you're respraying your rocker cover you just pull it out. It's a rubber gasket that fits in between the grooves of the rocker cover. It just pulls out.

31-05-08, 00:15 GMT+10#176 i think it looks wierd and dont like it, but thats my opinion. I'd prefer a highly polished inlet manifold
