i use hpr 30 Penrite.
when my car had a fresh engine this is what a lot of high hp guys were using in their cars so in lieu of doing research i said if its good enough for them its good enough for me.
guys started moving to nulon and other brands but i stuck with what the engine is use to.

Penrite HPR used to be semi-synthetic now they are full synthetic
I use HPR 15 in my rebuilt RB30, has about 20,000klms, nothing flash just aftermarket pistons, shot-peened prepped rods, aftermarket bearings etc. 12 - 14psi, change it every 5000klms and it still is a nice honey colour.
HPR 15 is what Penrite used to recommend for the RB30ET, now they say HPR 20.
I think they start out with a light weight, then as the car gets older, they keep upping it to a heavier weight.
I have always stuck with HPR 15 in my VL's and it seems perfect for me.
