Hey guys,
Looking at revamping my dash, its very dull, any ideas, I was thinking maybe putting LED globes in there but is that going to work?
Thoughts? I do want to keep the original dash too.

I've been wanting to do it for a while! Here's a picture of a led vl cluster. Let me know how yours goes
I was going to try these guys in Melbourne to do mine https://www.facebook.com/Vt-Ve-Custo...2421464861106/ (https://www.facebook.com/Vt-Ve-Custom-LED-Lighting-152421464861106/)

That looks great, is that just the standard colours of green but in LED? I have gone the white LED which I found a kit from eBay which should arrive shortly.
Do those guys do VLs though?

Which kit did you get off ebay? I'd be interested in how it looks once you get it.

Hey mate, I bought 2x of these kits, because you need at least 12 in total.
I will send pics once I have installed them too.

Yep standard in LED. I haven't asked yet but I assume they could and probably would do it. It would be no harder.

I guess it depends on what you want to do. If it's just make it brighter, white LEDs will do the trick. Anything custom colour wise would be harder as (correct me if I'm wrong) the dash panels have a green backing.

Yer mine were just dull and little boring, didn't help with a few globes blown but now that the dash cluster is pulled out, which I might add is a b*tch to do lol. I am going to go for a fresher brighter look which will be the white LED. Hopefully it looks good, and yes standard is green backing

So if I am going for a white LED, does that mean my dash would look white or green because the back of the dash is green already?

The lights in the dash stock are white. It's the dash backing that makes it green. So it'll look stock but just brighter. Like the image joe185i posted.

Ah even better. I was actually expecting it to look white, but yer that looks great the dash above. What about the needles, would they still remain the same colour?

24-05-16, 10:48 GMT+10#11 Yeah the needle plastic is orange so that will stay the same. I guess the level of brightness might affect exactly how orange it is, but essentially it should be the same...

OK no worries, I will take some photos of it once I am done and post on here.
Hopefully it lets me post photos on here because I was having trouble doing so

25-05-16, 10:25 GMT+10#13 i did LED from jaycar. I still have one normal globe as it seems the jatycar led is too big to fit.
it makes the indicators etc a bit too bright for me (white led's) and doesn't look factory.
I wouldn't do it again.

Hey mate, wouldn't you be able to do adjust the LEDs to with the dimmer that comes standard in the car or do they only work with the standard globes?

25-05-16, 13:16 GMT+10#15 yeah you can dim them but it makes the colouring of the dash too pale whereas its normally a vibrant green

25-05-16, 14:16 GMT+10#16 If you replace the battery light with a led make sure you either install a resistor or keep the factory globe wired in behind the dash, otherwise the alternator won't charge. The normal globe acts a resistor but the led won't

29-05-16, 17:43 GMT+10#17 I found the same as SIroller - dash went more an aqua blue/green rather than the nice stock green. Perhaps a warmer LED than white would work better but cbf

Yer I am still waiting on my globes, very slow postage from this eBay seller.
Should be arriving tomorrow. Anyone know how to post photos on here, it seems all my files are too big, how do I make them smaller to post?
