Vl turbo engine number help

Urgently need help, I am looking at a genuine vl turbo but the engine number does not end in either a6 or a8.. It's purely just A and it's fairly clean and no grind marks.. Can anyone please help/clarify? I have pics but don't no how to upload..

It's NOT a factory turbo engine then!
