I have asked the question before and only got stupid answers i have tried googling it and doing a search on here for it, Someone told me that a Nissan patrol RB30 was a long motor? Someone else told me that an A6 motor was a short motor and an A8 was a long motor? Which was bull 5h!7 because I did an engine swap and they were the same length! other people have told me its a myth and there all the same size? looking through the parts manual there is no difference? So the head is longer? so if i measure the head gasket to rocker cover what are the measurements to determine if a have a long or short motor? or are you taking the piss? I can't get a definitive answer?

Bro short and long motor is just slang Short motor = just the block (with or without accessories) Long motor = block and the head together (usually does not include manifolds) Complete motor = block, head, accessories and bolt ons etc There is no difference in physical dimensions in any RB30 block and heads they are all the same

To cut a "long story short" (excuse the pun): Quote: Originally Posted by Antho [View Post] Bro short and long motor is just slang Short motor = just the block (with or without accessories) Long motor = block and the head together (usually does not include manifolds) Complete motor = block, head, accessories and bolt ons etc There is no difference in physical dimensions in any RB30 block and heads they are all the same
