***PLEASE HELP*** vl turbo timing

I am trying to set the timing on my vl turbo and the timing marks keep moving back and forth after it has been set would this mean the gears on the dizzy are worn or is it something else any advice would be appreciated

Have you changed the dizzy at all what have you replaced?

Im guessing you mean that after youve set the timing and while you still have the gun on the balancer you rev the motor and the marks move around? Haha. There's nothing wrong with it, that's just the ecu changing the timing for different rev and load points. The timing is only supposed to be at 15 degrees btdc when at idle AND operating temp. If you set it at idle when it's cold then you will find it wont be set right once it's warmed up. As the motor revs higher the ecu changes the ignition point which makes sense if you think about it. Fuel & air mixtures take a certain amount of time to properly combust however the speed of the piston increases as the revs rise meaning there's less time for combustion, therefore the ecu must ignite the fuel earlier and so forth. Newbs. :/
