Hey All, New to the vl world. I bought one with a factory turbo set up with n/a inlet manifold with blown head gasket. replaced the head. fitted everything back together finally got the distributor aligned but still runs rough. i am also missing some hoses off the inlet manifold so air is coming out. if i quickly block them car runs a little better. my question is could someone please supply me with pictures of their n/a inlet manifold so i can work out where all the hoses go. cheers

I highly suggest to buy a timing gun also!

What hoses in particular are you missing? They generally have bends in them from being that way for 25 years, Have a look on Google Images for RB30 pics, the ones i had a few issues with were the 2 or 3 around the throttle body, but after hunting around online, found that they were pretty easy to work out.

It's running rough because of the missing hoses. The VL's engine computer needs to know precisely how much air is going into the engine to inject the correct amount of fuel. To do this it gets the information from the air flow meter which is on top of the big black air box. If your inlet manifold has missing hoses then air is being sucked into the motor without the computer knowing, making it run rough and way lean. I wouldnt drive it like that if i was you.
