Ive resprayed the car got the head lining in and need the front screen in but cant find a windscreen lace anywhere. Does anyone know another option to hold the head lining in around the front screen. Thanks

Fix yours, and rust proof it with some POR-15
Or, try and make one out of several sections of undamaged laces, if you can get your hands on some second hand ones
Alternatively get rid of the lace and try and glue the headlining in but this can look a bit dodgy

I could not find anywhere to get a new one from when I was looking about a year ago. I ended up reusing mine.

just for anyone out there in the same postion ( as i have been ) with these bloomin exposed wire rubber laces to hold headlining in.
i happened across a panel beater who i shared this problem with and he came out with a fully coated ( no wire showing except at each end ) wire impregnated rubber that fits perfectly and was the colour i needed. he said it came off the rear door of a van or ute but its quite long. fits perfectly with a trim to length.
there was no way i was gonna put that exposed wire one back inn to keep rusting out my windscreen surround and cowel edges like it had been!!!

and yes this did work. i have now removed windscreen two times with out having to cut out the rubber. just had to trim 10mm off one side of the rubber to expose enough of the windscreen metal surrounds for glue.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
