Is it losing power all together or just a voltage drop? Measure the ign wire into the microtech with a multimeter and again whilst cranking

If it is the power supply voltage drop: You could try running a new power wire to the Ecu from the battery, with a relay switched via accessorie also make sure the earth wire from the Ecu is well earthed. An Auto elec could do it for you in under an hour quite a cheap fix. Vls generally have resistance issues due to 26+ year old wiring respectively.[COLOR="Silver"]

When you crank the car over the accessories circuit is temporarily disconnected (to help the car crank). It sounds like you have the ECU connected to ACC (accessories - cig lighter, radio etc) instead of an ignition circuit.

It could be a motec, it would have the same problems guven what you have described. The boys are onto it, check your volts and check all your earthing points. Battery in the boot?

Update : So there isnt anything wrong with it , you need a hand controller to tune the unit , no wonder the laptop was losing connection
