Your earth will be at the back of the radio in the loom. Is your vl a calais?

It was an earth that i missed the loom i had didnt have a wire for it so i connected it straight to the earth from the radio. Stays on now but have no am/fm had the same problem with the previous head unit, played cds just no radio so i guess that would be a fault in the aerial cable? And yes its a calais.

I'd check the coax cable to the aerial, I'd get a multimeter and do a continuity test.

Cant test for that with my multimeter but the radio can find stations by itself when scanning just get no sound or even static

Earth is to the body of the radio
