Are all VL starter motors the same, or different between manual and auto?

Non turbo auto, manual and turbo auto use the same starter with the curved cover that sits out over the 9.5' ring gear. The turbo manual is different, it has a completely smooth face so no curved cover and fits the 10' ring gear.
